Question

I take Tucker to the vet to get his nails cut.  I cut the other dogs but he's a freak so I have to have somebody else do it.  Anyway should I tip the girl who cuts them?  I never think about it until I leave.  I wonder if I should run back over there and give her some money.  What do you guys think?

When I worked at petsmart people always tipped the groomers no matter what they did.

Yeah dusty I do the same thing.  The thought just never crossed my mind to tip her for some reason.  Do you think I should run back over there and give her some money or just catch up with her next time.  I think she's cut his nails about 4 times now.  Should I go catch up today or next time I go in just give her 20 bucks?

i'm sure she is not expecting you to tip her. some of her customers probably dont. i would wait until your next visit, and tip her and maybe take her a little gift, like a small plant or something. it would probably make her day !

In Georgia, at the PetSmart I probably would have tipped had I had the cash.  The people there were so great and LOVED it when I brought Lola in.

So far here in Maryland at this PetSmart everytime I pick up Lola I want to just strangle them.  I have taken Tiki with me everytime Lola goes in to have Tiki bathed and for whatever reason they continually refuse to do her.  I made an appointment for both of them and let them know that Tiki got her shots that day and when I got there they turned Tiki away.  I understand why they did, but why did they let me make an appointment for her in the first place!  Plus why should I wait 3 hours or more when I've made an appointment when if I just brought her in I'd wait 3 hours or more anyways.

(Can you tell we're in the process of trying to locate another groomer?)

I wish I could take Tucker to Petsmart to get his nails get.  It sure would be cheaper.  I pay 15.00 at the vet for his nail trim.  I actually wish I could do it at home myself like I do everybody else.  Tucker is afraid of EVERYTHING!  He's the most wonderful dog when it comes to obeying and things like that but he is the biggest chicken I have ever seen.  Just getting the frontline out of the cabinet causes him to run under the kitchen table and pee.  He's afraid of peanut butter now because thats what we use to keep him calm while they cut his nails at the vet.  When I make an appt. at the vet for his nail trim I usually have to sit and wait for a loooong time.  It take just about everybody in the office to hold him while they do it and I sit and feed him peanut butter.  He's as strong as an ox and if there aren't a lot of people holding him he'll throw them off.  My husband weighs about 280 and Tucker can send him flying.  They want to do it this way instead of tying him up and muzzling him because they (and I) want him to get used to it.  I take him about every other week.  He's getting better.  He doesn't struggle quite as bad anymore.  We tried it today with only one girl cutting and 2 girls holding plus me feeding peanut butter and he threw both of the girls holding him up against the wall.  We usually have 4 or 5 girls or guys holding him and 3 or 4 cutting his nails.  The people know to bring a change of clothes with them to work when he's getting his nails cut because he pee's all over them.  He won't even go out back and play without keeping me in sight.  I don't have to be outside but he has to be able to see me through the door.  If he can't he sits at the door and whines.  What a goofball!
