I am not here often but i come on here tonight to catch up and i read the "note" thread. I was surprised and apalled at the continous use of a certain cuss word. For those of you who know me, you know it takes a lot to upset me and that did. I'm making this thread to inform the members who posted in that thread that i found 26 uses of the cuss word in that thread and chose to delete the posts that mostly contained the word and that didn't pertain to the thread. If any of you have a problem with my decision, feel free to pm me about it and please refrain from using cuss words again, as it states in the rules. Sorry if this makes me seem mean but i was actually shocked.
Here is how I see it. I don't like those kinds of words. However, I just ignore or stop reading if it is something like that. The MAIN problem I have is if my son were to walk in the room and see his mom on a forum that uses those kinds of words. You know what I mean? Not trying to sound like a goody 2 shoes or anything, but that's just my opinion.
We are suppose to be keeping the forum clean enough so that if a kid comes on, they can read and not be exposed to those kind of things.
You are absolutely right! I have even said before it should be kept kid oriented....I think we just got carried away with the silliness. Maybe even frustration. Things just haven't been the same around here and it was fun to joke again with the regulars. But you are right. I think it should have been removed also. (And honestly, it was poking fun at the ones who called our members by that name. Just a way to let them know we could care less.)
Me personally, I don't look at it as a cuss word. But I do understand where you are comming from. I am the one that orginally said the word but I was quoting what someone said. Then again we did take it kinda far. We don't have our little 4-5 page long posts anymore cause a lot of out regualrs are gone, I will not comment on why but i'm sure everyone knows by now. Sorry if I offended anyone!
I think that the furum looks absolutely GREAT....but it has become sooooo slow! No one talks anymore....no one ever in chat...I miss the long hours talking to everyone.
HNmom, I am fairly clueless 1/2 the time around here, too. I loved what was said in the other thread, "anyone have a map?" I think it is sad so many bad things happen in chat. I never use it... for that reason. I guess I'm a simpleton, and the forum itself is enough. I am on about 6 other forums, though. This one is my fave, because of the people here. When the real neato personality people blip out, like Tuna and Troubled, I am suspicious...but quite sad [I am too mature to blame myself, in my younger days it was all about me...now I know people can have problems that have nothing to do with me...d'yah think?] I am still trying to convince myself that the worlds do not, indeed, revolve around me. However, having been socially conditioned to take thorough bruisings, with a smile...I think a lot of people are wimps and quitters and cannot sweeten my words to accomodate them...
Well, I never thought it fighting, but that is just from my perspective. There are just things that didn't seem right and took offense to our regulars being called "****heads". What could they have done to warrant that? It seems of late, our regulars, have been in hiding and the place just hasn't seemed itself. Again, we were being silly and got carried away.
Pits, the thread makes no sense now because half of it was deleted and rightly so. We were giving ourselves silly nic names and such. I actually don't consider that a cuss word either but it is crude, no doubt. Oasis, did the right thing by calming the air! lol
I, personally, am sorry for offending anyone or coming of as fighting, but I will call something out if I find it odd and this whole thing seems odd and lacked maturity to me.
lol, huntersmom- i won't say the "s" word either. I say "stink", too.
Again, no one offended me, I just do not want my child (or anyone else's) coming on here and seeing something like that.
As far as people being gone, they have been gone. However, I anticipate that they will be back pretty soon. lol Some of you know what I mean and some of you don't, but you should.
and I try to stay clean in wording... maybe not so much in thought... lol... especially when it come to Orlando ~~~
