I'm so happy

My mother and I went to the pound to see what kinds of pups they had. We were never planning on getting on just yet we were just trying to determine a breed at this point but we found on we like. We haven't gotten him yet because I am waiting on the 60 dollars my grandmother said she would give me once I get that I told my mother I would get him get his rabies shot once he was old enough and get him fixed which in total is less then 50 dollars. His name is jake he is a doberman lab mix. The people at the pound said he was brought in as a stray and then someone adopted him and then brought him back saying they didn't have time for him. His paws are small so we a pretty sure he won't get that big. He is 3 months old. If I find him on petfinder I will put the link up here. I am just hoping he is still there once I get my money.

I have a lab/dobe mix and he's the best.  He is such a wonderful dog.  We adopted him at 12 wks. and he was 21 pds.  He's at 95 now but he had big paws.  When do you think you'll be getting him?  Congratulations!

I am hoping to get him tomorrow. Oh and my mother wants him so bad she has already re-named him and we haven't been away from the pound for more then 2 hours. LOL she re-named him Aries.

first of all good luck with your new dog. but i am an up front person and i just am curious about something you said yourself. and please dont take offense, its not meant to be rude, just a question . are you really going to be able to afford another dog ? you said you had to get the cheap dog food because thats all you could afford. and now youre getting another dog that will be at least a mid size one. and you have to get the money from someone else to buy it. you said your mom will have more money with the added roommates, but what if that doesnt work out and they move out? 60 dollars is a small fee to pay for the dog. but the cost of raisng it will not be cheap. just buying a good quality dog food is not cheap and then add vet bills. the expected and the UNEXPECTED .i just hope you really think about all those things before you get another dog. they are a lifetime commitment.

Another think I also said in my other post about looking for another dog is that my mother got a raise at work and trust me the room mates that will be moving in won't move out. Also I'm not getting the moeny really from someone else they pay me for doing stuff for them. I mow lawns and I dog sit. This is where the 60 dollars is coming from. I have also found out about 30 minutes ago that I will be getting a job at target. I can't start yet I have to wait 1 to 2 weeks. They said I will be replacing someone and they haven't fired them yet so I have to wait till they fire this person but I will be starting training on wenesday. It seems like everything is finally falling into place. Plus when you get an animal from the pound you get discounted prices at the vets office. I also no longer feed trinity ol'roy. I wanted to put her on chicken soup for a dog lovers soul or what ever its called but I can't find that brand so for the time being until I can find that brand trinity will be given pedigree large breed adult.

pedigree is basically ole' roy. same food, different package. i guess you have to feed what you can find. check the feed stores. they carry the better brand foods that you wont find in the stores. and good luck with your new dog and your new job

I am going to try to get up there tomorrow and get him if I can if not I am unable to get him tomorrow I will at least go up there a get a pic. He loves my mother too when we went up there wwe were able to take him out front and play with him and he was chewing on my mothers hand. LOL What really shocked us about him is when we walked into the area all the dogs were barking except him even when we were playing with him I didn't hear him bark. I know he will end up bark at some point in time but it just kind of shocked me and my mother when we walked in there and he didn't bark at us.

The same thing crossed my mind Dusty!  But who am I to talk!  I can manage all my other furkids fine, but my Pug Holly is a $$$million dollar girl $$$, and I have made some really extreame decisions just to keep her going this long.  I really hope PD doesnt have any health issues with "Aries",  and if there is a will there usually is a way!  It sounds to me like PD and her mom are already in love, and minds are made up!  But PD, have you and your mom ever thought about fostering for a rescue?  Or a shelter for that matter?    Then all food, medications, and other expences are paid by the rescue group.    Just thought Id mention that!  But if you love Aries, I am pretty sure you will make ends meet if ever a major health issue arises!  I dont know if Trinity ever has had any health issues, but please remember that some furkids do!  Its  tough I know, and I also know if you love a furkid you will find ways to help him/her!     Good luck with your job too!

I have been trying to talk me mother into fostering but she said that if we foster she won't be able to let them leave plus we don't think they will let us foster because we have so many animals as is. We are giving away some of our pets. 2 of my rats really belong to one of my freinds and he is getting his own place so he will be taking them. One of my female rats is old and probably will die soon. My mothers cat we are going to see if my freind chris wants him. He has been wanting a cat and he likes tigger alot. But we will have to see. I don't think the richardson animal shelter does foster homes but they might.

I love to hear that you are going to adopt, and save alife!  The shelters around here will PTS dogs that get returned.  So Aries is lucky!  And so are you!

Its $15 dollars for an animal over 6 months of age. I would only have to pay 3 dollars because jake or aries as my mother calls him is only 3 months old.
