Talking to hubby tonight, we went over pros and cons of both and finally came down to the fact that Koda really is just like a golden already. (Plus he can't resist though chow faces either! lol) Koda does have that golden personality and looks too.
So, we are going to start trying to find a chow breeder that has a puppy for us. We don't want a pup until at least spring maybe even later but we both decided that that is definitely going to be our next dog! Whoo Hoo! I am of course happy, I would have been either way though......
Congratulations ~ only you really know which is best for your lifestyle ~ I saw a chow for the 1st time when i went shopping on sunday..very impressive and well behaved dog
I have only ever met one chow but I have loved the breed ever since this dog. Good luck finding a good breeder. I just went through that about a year ago and will be getting my puppy soon hopefully so I know how hard it can be.

Nope, this one will have its very own special name. :) And of course I will post pictures. I am actually in contact with a breeder now who is planning a litter for February. I will post pictures of the parents that she is planning on breeding after I find out. She has some very pretty dogs. I am going to ask for references today and vet records but they have been breeding for quite some time and out of over 500 puppies not a single one has ever had a congenital defect. They are cleared for hip dysplasia as well and never a single case of entropian. I am not going to just settle on this dog, I really want a good one so I am being VERY picky about this. :)
Congrats! Hubby has had 2 Chows, he had a white one when we got together. The whites are very rare. They are really blonde but hey lol. Finding a good Chow Chow breeder seems to be very hard. I've been looking here in FL for over a year now, I have only found one good breeder here and they are in Miami. When we get the room we will be getting another Chow, but the way it's goinf now it may be sometime.
Do they have a website at all? It is very hard to find a good breeder. I am definitley coming up short handed! lol I have no time limit or anything so I am not in a huge hurry, I just want to find a good breeder and more then likely I will be on a waiting list for quite a while. But, oh well! lol
They have been breeding for over 15 years, they have some beautiful Chow Chows. I haven't spoke with them in over a year and I don't think they have had a litter in awhile because they have the same puppy pictures up for awhile and they usually update them. All of their pups are show quality, don't know if that is what you are looking for or not.
Hubby and I looked at the blueribbon chows site while in Georgia, before we got Tiki. When we get a chow, I'm wanting a pure black female. I've had some trouble seeing any of those. Lots of males, but looked like all the females at the time I was looking were the redish colors.
I am looking for a blond one with the darker ears. I just fell in love with that color.....
Here are some of my favorite pups.....I love Kream and Kahlua....The female that had them was apparently accidently bred back to back and so they are waiting minimum of a year before they breed her again. I absolutely LOVE them.....
