Since ive been working at my Vets office, ive noticed that almost every single older dog that comes in smells. We call it the old dog smell. Why do older dogs tend to smell?
Winnie isnt old she is almost 3 but i dont want her to become "smelly" is it something you can prevent. Are these older dogs just not given baths cause they are old? I just thought it was weird.
I think its cause the owners don't want to stress them out with baths. I bath Sasha, poodles don't hardly ever stink, but I don't nit pick about things with her like I used to being she is arthritic. Maybe its something like that.
My aunt has a really old Shih Tsu (sp) and he smells. She can give him a bath and a day later he has this awful oder. I think soon its going to be time to put him to sleep.
