Im really excited my oldest boy Nick wants to play the Tuba in band at school. We will rent 2 Tubas. Its pretty inexpensive considering purchasing a Tuba is $4000.00. I am really happy that Nick, and his music teacher agreed on it, but wonder if it will be really hard for him. They will keep one at school, and one at home. But I wonder if its hard to play. Anybody or anybodys kids ever played the Tuba? Weird question I know, but I don't know anyone who ever played it.
Cool! But, I can tell you one thing. Get ready for hours of noise at home from him praticing! I used to play the Bass Cleo and Voilin (sp) my parents hated it! Get ready! LOL I'm sure if he puts his heart into it he will be great!
i think its great when kids show an interest in learning an instrument. i played the piano when i was a kid. the tuba is a large instrument. and not a quiet one. i can still hear my brothers trombone a blowing. but thats the kind of hobby that keeps kids focused on the positive and out of trouble. hopefully he will like it and stick with it. you might even get to see him marching in the school band when he gets older. the more interest that you show , the more he will be inclined to play. maybe you can get some pics !
I know it will be noisy! I played the trumpet until high school. I regret quitting it, because I did pretty well! I will get some pics for sure at his first concert. I cant wait, Im thrilled!
That's awesome! I played a lot of instruments in High School. I tried Tuba, I was able to play it, but it was really hard! Lol. I'm sure if he practices he will do just fine. I will love it if my kids want to play instruments, you're very lucky that your son wants to, I think that's great :)
