At my work we have groomers, and they do cats and dogs all the time. For the first time on Thursday I saw how they give cats baths and it made me sad, i felt so bad for the poor cat.
What they do is they put the cat in a little cage, like the ones the pound uses to transport animals. Anyways they put them in there and put the cage in the bath basin, take the hose and just drench the poor cat who is frekaing out in the cage. Its seemed to me there has to be a better way, that isnt as stressful for the cat.
Does anyone know if this is the normal way cats are bathed by groomers?
maybe they just bathed the cats that were abit mean like that so that they wont get bit or scratched ..seems alittle weird to put them in a cage though
I've never seen it done, I know they have those bags they put them in. I was talking to this gal last week and she bathed hers at home scarily without either.
My mom is a groomer and has used the cat cages before but she doesn't now because they are hard to work around and not nice for the cat. Now she just bathes them like a dog and muzzels them if needed.
