To any and all members that live in Florida. I wish you the best, if at all possible, contact another member of this forum that does not live in the hurrican path, they will be able to give updates to all of us as many of you might be without power. And I know that everyone will want to know if you are all safe.
If you can, leave. There has got to be somewhere you can go, please do not take your chances with mother natures fury. If you do leave, PLEASE take your pets with you. Everyone is in my prayers. Good Luck!

When Wilma does hit se will only hit at a Cat2 not a Cat 5. She's going to slow down. As of right now she's going to hit just south of me about 45 mins or so. My mother in law already left she called us last night wanting us to go with her but we are going to stick it out again. A Cat 2 is really nothing, I know you all are thinking we are crazy but by the time the 2 that went threw here last year they were a Cat 2 and there was no real damage here. We are pretty far inland (about an hour).

If we do deicided to leave we will prolly just go to my brother in laws house. He has a solid block house in the city. The only thing we are affarid of here is flooding and our trees comming down. I will let everyone know what is going on.

Stormy, Where do you live at? We used to live in Naples. I loved it there, we didn't live there long enough to experience a hurricane(not that I am complaining), I love Sanibel Island, I hope it doesn't get affected too much......I would love to go down and see it again.

I live in Tampa about 2 hours north of Naples. I've been to Sanibel Island but it was always at night. I have family in Anna Marie Island, they have already packed up and left the island floods easily. It actually flooded when Katrian and Rita went by the waves is all it took.

Last I heard it was going to hit the Naples area along with Punta Gordua, like they need to be hit again when they still haven't fully recovered from last year.

There is a theory on why Tampa doesn't get hit. See years ago Tampa Bay was made by a hurricane and they say the way it's shaped (the bay) is why we don't get it. The currents running in and out of it keep them away. Now remember this is just a theory that many people believe, this is not a proven fact.
