chinchilla cage

Nathan and I are talking about someday getting a chinchilla to add to our mix, however I am getting highly confused on what kind of cage is acceptable for a chinchilla.  We are thinking we will get two because we've read that they do better in pairs.  What is a good size cage for a pair of chinchillas?

Is this cage a good on for chinchillas? or is the spacing too far apart?  Also is this one too big Can I do one slightly smaller than this?

At work and even at PetSmart they have "starter chinchilla cages" but to me they look too small for 1 chinchilla let alone 2.

Thank you!!!

the first one says it is okay for chinchillas . i didnt see that in the second . i had a little smokey gray chinchilla named corky, years ago. what an entertaining pet he was !. he would scoot himself up between the wall and stereo. and then creep down and nip at the dogs feet while he slept, and then run back to his spot . i love him. they are great pets. i was thinking about getting another, but between the frenchies and the cats i would be to worried about an accident. they do make wonderful pets . someday i will get my prairie dog though ! lol

They both look fine.  Anything for a farret or rabbit is fine.  The farret cages are better and remember, bigger is always better.  They will spend most of their time in the cage so they need lots of space to be comfortable.

Here are some helpful info. sites:

Hope that helps
