Not to my home, but to my mum's. I got her for my mum last night. She's a purebred Redbone Coonhound, 4 years old. She's a sweetie! One of the best dogs I have ever seen. She's potty trained, she whines at the door to be let out to potty, she is trained to go lay on her bed when people are eating, she loves kids and is VERY gentle around them, she's SOOOOO laid back! I seriously have never seen a hound this mellow. She is really well-mannered in the house and walks very well on a lead. She constantly has her nose to the ground like most hounds, but didn't run off when we went to my parent's ranch today. She actually heels, which is something I have never seen in a hound. She doesn't jump at all, and get this, she has yet to bark. She's like some sort of dream dog! Lol. I have never seen a dog this well trained. I would have been greedy and kept her to myself, but she belongs on a farm and my parent's have 60 acres. I just wanted to share, I was pretty excited, especially because since she's at my mum's I get to enjoy her too
Here's her pic:

Yeah, that's how it is for me as well *sigh* I have a good small to medium sized dog type yard, but it wouldn't be fair to a hound. This is a neat setup though because I can still enjoy her since she is with my mum :)

beautiful dog !! that pic looks like something out of a magazine. i love to hear them dogs bay. reminds me of the movie, where the red fern grows. remember those dogs? dan and anne. lol
What a sweetie. Some dogs just want to be good, and make you happy. She has that look that says "I'm a good girl...right?" Tell her what a good girl she is. I love it when mine behave themselves. I sing little songs to the lot of them, about what good doggies they are...all those angel faces looking back at me.[I figure if they believe it hard enough, it may just come true].
Dusty, I LOVE that movie! That was actually the reason I love Redbones so much. When I was a kid, my dad decided to get me a dog and I said I wanted a Redbone. Unfortunately, in my state they are really hard to come by. So he got me a Golden, and I named him Dan after that movie! Lol. I think I have seen like 3 Redbone ads ever, and had never seen one in person. And then I came across this ad and knew I couldn't pass it up. Being as how I have always wanted to see one, and my mum was looking for a dog and my stepdad hunts and really wanted a coonhound, it was the perfect match. I can't take credit for the picture because her former owner took it, she just sent it to me when I emailed her about the dog
Lol Kitty, your dogs sound really well behaved themselves I really think it's a sporting dog thing. I mean, all breeds essentially want to please, but there is just something about the sporting breeds (labs, hounds, setters, etc.) that are so loving. I can't pinpoint exactly what I'm trying to say, lol. It's funny because my favorite breeds have always been the Mastiff and the Chihuahua. But now that my parents have her, I think I have changed my opinion, lol. Course, I like all dog breeds.
