London Broil?

Nathan and I accidentally bought some London Broil a couple of weeks ago instead of Round Steak (don't ask I dont know how he did it)  Anyways, he's telling me I can roast it just like I would a pot roast.  Does anyone know like the specifics or what not?  On a 2 1/2 lb roast we do it at 325 for about an hour give or take i think.  It's like 20-22 min per lb if I'm remembering right.  All the recipies for london broil call for grilling or broiling (go figure, right?)

Guess I can just try it and see what happens....

It is a REAL cheap cut of meat when on sale. Broiling produces a product resembling shoe leather, and the meat must not cook past m-rare. It is nearly fat-less and makes the best roast beef ever, but use the crock-pot, or slow roast it, sealed with water. I use the crock pot. Makes good taco shredded beef...

I make london broil a lot.  My husband loves it.  I hate it.  I grill it, like kitty said, not passed medium well.  I have a marinade that I use.  I will go look for the recipe for the marinade and let you know.  I made one in the oven once and it was not good.  Since than, I've grilled.

I did actually just roast it at 425 for about an hour and a half or so.  Even added the potatoes and carrots.  Yummy, turned out beautiful.  Nathan said while he was cutting it that it was like a knife through butter.  I liked it better cooked as a pot roast then the reg. stuff we get for a pot roast!  (Go figure, right?)

No, you are right.
My girlfriend as a child had a mom that broiled that cut and served it with a sauce, so I was always confused by it, and never used it for roast.
I got a big double slab of the stuff when it was $2. a lb. or less, thought...hmmm, wonder what this will do in a crockpot? I have kicked myself ever since, because it makes the best, cheapest, roast beef I have ever had. These days they are charging Wwaaaay too much for meat in the markets. I only buy whatever is cheap, but I won't buy anything not up to my standard, would rather eat vegetarian.
