It turns out that the reson he blacked out was because he had to much insulain in his body. He is doing so good at controling his diabties with diet and exercise that he is now taking less insulian.
Tha only bad part is when he was in the hospital he kept telling them he was ok but the day after he got out of the hospitial he had to go back because it turned out that he had broken his tail bone.
i hope he is doing better. my mother has 6 brothers and sisters. all of them, including herself, are diabetic. one aunt died at 50 from it. my mom is always trying to prick my finger with her little machine and check my blood sugar. i been having spells where i get real light headed and start shaking. it comes on fast, but subsides real quick when i eat something. my ankles swell like balloons too. i just always wait until i think i'm dying before i go to the doctor.diabetes scares me though. its real important to keep track of your blood sugar level.when it drops real fast you can slip into a diabetic coma. i hope your grandpa can keep his under control.
Dusty, when I was your age I had that problem [dizzy, fainting] we thought it was LOW blood sugar. I think small protein and vegi meals works on that? Cut out sugars, they spike the blood up, then it drops real low after that... For the ankle swelling, you can eat a bowl of tabouli on an empty stomich, once or twice a week. The swelling should go away quick. [It starts going away immediately] Make sure you have it for breakfast and let it digest on it's own for a couple hours. Tabouli... 1 bunch parsley, finely chopped 1 large ripe tomato, " " 1 bunch green onion " " 1 bunch fresh mint " " dash of extra virgin olive oil 1-2 cloves fresh garlic juice of 1 fresh, ripe lemon option: handful of cracked wheat [bulgar] Eat this salad by scooping it into whole wheat pita bread, or by itself. The ingredients must all be fresh, and wholesome, for the medicenal effect... It causes bile production and clears gout and arthritis, uric acid problems. It is diuretic.
thanks kitty ! i am willing to try anything that will help. and there isnt anything in the ingredients that i dont like. except where would i find the mint? i have never seen it in the stores, but i havent looked for it before either. lol
thanks pd. i will ask next time i go to safeway. more than likely if they have it, it will be where they keep all the fresh vegetables. i used to have a mint houseplant, but i dont think it's the same thing.
