Does anyone know?

Okay, one of the things I have always wanted to do was to show cats, not just any cats but Birmans, I have ALWAYS loved them and two of my cats that I have now are getting up there(9 and 10-11) I know that is not an old age but both cats are showing signs of slowing down alot. Anyway, I was talking to my husband and he knows that I am bothered about the thought of losing them so he suggested I do some research on what it takes to show a Birman and what they might need(health tests, etc.) I have seen a couple shows on cat showing but I always catch the end of it. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea on where to start? I have a few breeders in my state that I am going to e-mail. This is something I will not do until my other cats are no longer with me. We believe that Asha is part Birman but she is still just a young 'en at age 4. I REALLY am hoping that this will be years down the line, simply because I want my kitties to be here forever! LOL But my instincts are telling me otherwise.
So, if you have any ideas, let me know! Thanks!

I think cat showing is alot easier to get into the dog. I hope your kittys don't go soon though.
