Im dog sitting this dog who gets two cups of dry kibble and a can of tuna for dinner. I gave Lana and Hyde a little to see if they would eat it and they did and loved it. I was thinking that cans of tuna would be a lot cheaper then cans of wet food. So I just want to make sure Tuna is ok for dogs, it would be in small amounts, just to give the food some flavor, cause Hyde and Lana are picky.
What do you guys think? And if Tuna is ok, is chunk light tuna in water ok, and should i get the kind with low sodium? Thanks!
Sydney! We just got tunachaser back and you're thinking about feeding him to the dogs?!?! Sorry couldn't resist there. Guess I'm feeling a little smart alecky (sp?) this morning.
I honestly don't know if you can give dogs tuna. Hmmm...might be something to research.... Hubby refuses to give anything people food related to the dogs...."It's PEOPLE food" *shrug* I just don't want my dogs begging at the table when I'm eating.
Give trinity tuna every now and then. She loves it. LOL lil that is funny when I first read the titled I wanted to say the same thing but it looks like you beat me. LOL
my dogs love it too. i only buy the tuna thats packed in water. when they see me opening a can, its a "survival of the fittest" between the dogs and the cats. lol !
I'm glad to hear someone else thought the same thing. Was a little worried if I didn't word it correctly someone would take it offensively. I'm just a royal smart a$$ So long as I can bring a smile to someone's face my job for the day is complete.
OK, you guys... Listen up... CANNED MACKEREL is one of my major calcium, diet enhancing, advice items... It is right next to the tuna, is cheaper than tuna, or salmon, or canned dog food, for that matter. Has the bones...soft, edible calcium, and the vitamin D, to force it's absorbtion.
Kitty says," waste not the money on tuna" [merely protein] "get mackerel instead" [valuable calcium source...]...
