This old lady was handling 5 babies or so, and I didn't see Sarah and I asked if Sarah was there and she was in her lap facing away from me crying because the lady wiped her snotty nose and I got down and looked at her and said "Hi, baby" and she looked at me and got all happy when I picked her up. Matt and I had to goof with her til Christa got there because everytime I stood her up so I could walk her around, she was pushing away to grab my shirt so I would just hold her. She was thinking "No, you just sit here and hold me, woman." ha! It felt good that she didn't want us to leave....:)
Daycare sucks but it's their only option right now...I feel bad because she's around strangers....I guess it'll help with her socialization and stuff. She's 10 months old so I guess it's better to start them early.
Well, plans have changed. My mom is going to take care of her (roughly about 40 hours a week) and they're going to pay her 100 dollars a week to watch her. She went to the DR today and has an ear infection and it's not worth it if she is going to keep getting sick. I wouldn't pay them 100 a week for my kid to get sick. I'll be working, most likely part time so I'll be helping her watch her some days. I just know I wouldn't be able to handle 40 hours a week, mom's a brave woman. She can't walk yet but she'll be in for it when she does...ha!
I was going to say, that she would be sick all the time in that enviornment, but I did not want to pee on your parade [my mom's a nurse]. It is good that money can be exchanged w/in a family for care of relatives[I was recently offered this]. Child care is not fun. It keeps bad feelings away if a relative is contributing, but not "being used"... It also keeps the kid from all those other disease sources [who knows what each of them is, in turn, exposed to]... Good thinking.
Ya, I knew she'd get sick. My mom's a nurse and when she had us in daycare, my bro and I were sick all the time and had to miss alot of work to take us to the doctor.
I knew the ear infection was the beginning of a nightmare.... :\
I have never had to put Kaitlyn in any sort of day care. If she needed to be watched her great grandma always watches her. I just don't trust total strangers with her. And Kaitlyn has perfect social skills too because she has cousins her age that she plays with all the time.
