I went into work today to drop off the dogs for daycare. Thats when I found out that yesterday when an owner came in to pick up his two dogs from being groomed, one of them had bolted out of the kennel and some how made it out the back door and escaped! Everyone went looking for her lastnight and she still has not been found. I feel so bad for the owners,they are good clients.
So im going out today to try and find her. The owners were out till midnight lastnight looking for her with no luck. I can't believe this happened! How in the world does this happen.
Re check the pounds. Sometimes people try to keep an animal for a few days, then give it up. Also check the kill records at the pounds, dogs picked up dead are listed that way. Dogs can run several cities away before stopping, and people can drive a dog to their local humane, so other humane societies may be involved. People reluctant to surrender a dog may merely put a paper on the wall at the pound saying they have it.
Well we have not found her. I drove all over the place, as i was driving I saw the owner posting flyers on poles, it was so sad. I got some flyers with her picture, im gonna make a lot of copies and give them to the mailmen in the area, and other people whos job it is to drive around the neighborhoods.
I keep checking online as well and have placed some ads on various lost/found sites.
Valentine was found!! We got a call from the owner today at work, I guess someone saw a flyer and called. She has sore pore but it otherwise in great condition/health. Needless to say they arnt bringing her back to our hospital but we did offer to treat the dog free of charge. But its understandable, it was a freak accident. Im just glad they got her home!
