ER visit last night

Well I had to go to the ER last night. I was having chest pains, a headache, nausated, and felt clamy all over.My chest literally felt like someone was trying to rip it open. Went to the ER and they did chest e-rays and an EKG and that came up normal. So what they said was that my chest muscles are inflammed. And let me be the first to tell you that it is very painful. I don't know what i did to cause them to become inflammed. I have not been doing any chest exercises or anything. They have me on three different meds. Ibuprofin 800mgs 3 times a day for 10 days, painkillers, and a set of cortisone pills for 6 days. And to top it all off I woke up with a toothache this morning....

That sucks. At least it wasn't your heart. Would rather have pulled muscles anyday than that...

How wierd!! My husband woke up with chest pains the night before last! He wouldn't go to the hospital and they eventually went away(a few hours later). His dad was a emt for 20 years and his mom worked at a hospital so he knows all the important signs to watch out for but it freaked me out. Now I feel like a mother hawk watching him for any other symptoms.......

I am sorry about what you went through! Glad you are okay though!

Well that sounds just horrible!  I'm glad it wasn't your heart though.  I hope you feel better soon.

I am glad it wasn't by heart to. I actually was thinking it was some freaky asthma attack. Because I do have asthma but its just not so bad that I need an inhaler. Whats funny though was the guy that came in to do the EKG...When he first came in he just kept saying "Something ain't right here" He asked are you so and so and I was like yes. And yet he still had a preplexed look on his face. Finally I was like "Listen I am having chest pains and the doc wants to do an EKG" So then he finally got on with it. I guess my age throw him off.

Anyways I still hurt and I expect it to for the next few days before it gets to feeling better.

Wow, that is bizarre. These days any age can have heart problems, not just the older age bracket.  Enflamed muscles, good lord how did that happen.  Glad you are ok, Rebel

I remember my doc saying sinus alergies can cause pain or tighten in the chest, by the draining into the chest.. Just thought I'd toss that into the posslbe whys. Hmmm
