She needs to drink more...

Alrighty folks...need to pick your brains...

Marley is now 5 1/2 months old, 16#. She's been on Clavamox for the past two weeks for a UTI. One of the vet's concerns with Marley's first urinalysis and culture (which diagnosed the UTI), was that Marley's urine was very concentrated. So, for two weeks, I have really focused on trying to get more water into her. I've tried adding broth...makes her drink less.    I've tried the running fountain water bowl...she won't drink from it at all.   I'm adding as much water to her food as I possibly can without her literally having to drink two meals a day.

Dietwise, Marley gets frozen Nature's Variety raw in the morning, and Nature's Variety kibble mixed with canned in the evening. In total, she gets less than 1/2 c. of the kibble each day.

We're going through a little less than 1/2 a gallon of water from the bowl each day, but that is between both of my dogs, so I'm not really sure how much of that Marley is getting.

I had another urinalysis done to make sure that the Clavamox is working on the UTI. The bacteria looks better, but Marley's urine is STILL concentrated.

The vet has suggested that I up the amount of canned food even more, but I'm concerned about her teeth if she gets no kibble at all (I do give her RMBs about once or twice a week and she chews on Nylabones all the time).

So...any ideas on how to get my little girl to drink more? Thanks for anything you can offer!}

Her teeth willbe fine for the short amount of time she is on the drug.
Mix pedilyte in her food?

Yep, just what Kitty's mom said.  Lots of canned, pedilyte and maybe try a bit of sugar in the water.  They like the sweetness.  I went through this with my cat and now he is on specific food for the UT.  As long as she has dental bones to chew on, the canned won't hurt her teeth.
