I had the weirdest thing happen to me the other day! There was a brindle Frenchie at this petshop that we go to sometimes. When I walked in, he immediately took to me and had his paws on the kennel whining for me to pick him up (they don't keep the dogs in actual kennels there, but those playyard things). I was carrying him around and he laid his head on my shoulder and started to fall asleep. Well, when we were getting ready to go, I put him back in the playpen and he started whining REALLY loudly. Everywhere I walked, he walked to that side and was pawing at the sides of the playpen. This guy picked him up, and he was wriggling like mad trying to get out of his hands and whining. The guy knelt down to get a better grip on him, and he wriggled out of his arms and came running back to me! There were like 5 other customers in the store too, but he ran right past them and right up to me. He started pawing at my leg whining. So I picked him up again. He was instantly quiet and laid his head on my shoulder again. I felt really bad, but after awhile we really did have to go, so I put him back again and he started up again! The owner of the shop tried picking him up and settling him down and he wouldn't. When he put him back, he actually climbed out of the playpen and tried running up to me again! It was the weirdest thing! I have never seen a dog take to me like that, especially one that didn't know me very well. I wonder why he was doing that? I didn't have any snacks in my pockets or anything. Poor thing

Awwww....how sad. I know when we got Murphy it was just and his little sister left. When we walked away with Murphy she started crying and chasing us out the door. I felt so guilty. Lets just say I almost got two dane pups that day.
Awe Hunter you're making me cry. You sure you can't get another dog? He sounds like he was meant to be yours. A heart dog that would guard you with his life. How sad. I wish you could get him. He loved you and knew you were good.
Puttin, I wanted to get him SO bad. It was hard because I have always felt strongly about not buying petshop dogs since it supports puppy mills, but this one really did tug at my heartstrings. But he was 1,200 dollars....if I had that lying around I would probably have him sitting my lap right now. He was a cutie. I really like Frenchies too thanks to Jess! lol

Paige, that would be so hard! Oh man...I would have probably ended up with two as well! Lol. I always wondered what it would be like to get the second to last in the litter. I am such a softy, I would feel so bad about leaving that last one. I always feel bad for them..being last and all...

I see that happen quite often in rescue. Luckily they are not there long. But when you think about it once you get them home and when its their nap time they still miss their litter mates. When I first got Lilly, There was NO way in the world that I could let her sit there alone crying, woooooo woooo wooooo. Like a little tiny wolf. God I can still hear it and she is nearly a year and a half old. It broke my heart to hear that.
Ahhh hunter! He loved you! I think that it is a sign! he said please!!!! lol! You should get you one...even if it is not now..... frenchies are just awesome fun dogs!
aaawww he loved you ! frenchies pick their humans. rocky was supposed to be quinns, but he bonded immediately to me. then we got annie for him and ...same thing ! they are both velcro dogs to me. i cant go into another room where they wont follow me. the new puppy is sleeping at his feet right now, so hopefully she will bond to him. once they choose someone, thats it ! lol maybe you could talk to the petstore owner and he will lower the price if he doesnt sell. it sounds like he has already picked you .
Awww Puttin! I am totally picturing a little Lilly doing that! Like babies, I hate to see puppies cry. I just end up cuddling them, lol. After awhile I work with them on all that, but while they are still so young I don't because I feel so bad that they are away from their littermates.
Dusty, that's funny because that's what other people have been telling me...to see if they would go down in price. 1,200 isn't bad for a Frenchie really though. Aren't they normally that high or higher? I would think a petshop would sell them for like 2,000. This one is a mum-and-pop one though.
Jess, its funny because I have always had my heart set on a Chihuahua and a Mastiff breed. I still love them both, but when I first met you on TP and you showed me your Frenchie I just loved them ever since! They remind me of a Boston/Bulldog mix...too cute!
