I FINALLY RODE MY HORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My neighbor talked me into and and told me to just do it. She said she would if i didn't....lol. I was determined to do it first since i have been training her for a year. I finally got a saddle that fits her and i put it on her and just got on. She did awesome! My neighbor ever rode her once. I have ridden her about 6 times now and have even trotted some. She has been great. We all celebrated and hubby took me out to dinner. Then we all shared a bottle of sparkling cider. I can't believe i did it! WooHoo!! Can you tell i'm happy?.....lol
Thats great O!!!! Im so happy for you and jealous at the same time...lol...i miss having horses in my life. Post some pics of you riding her! That would be cool.
I will definately post some pics. Today kinda sucked cuz Thunder came up lame again (can't walk good cuz of a sore hoof) a couple days ago and after confering with my father-in-law (Farrier who trained me), we concluded that the damage to his hooves from so many years of shoeing is irreversable and he has to spend the rest of his life in shoes. So....today, hubby and i put shoes on him. He is still sore but he should start feeling better soon. Oh well, such is life.
I had an appaloosa that had feet too soft for shoes...they kept tearing the crap out of his feet. I ran him barefoot the rest of his life, but did not use him on pavement. He was just fine. The white/pink hooves are too soft for shoes. Just dreaming of good times, may not reflect on your sitch at all.
Awesome! Congrats! I'll bet it's so neat to see all that hard work between you guys pay off :)
Sorry to hear about the sore hoof. I hope he gets better soon. It's always sad to see them lame and not being able to do much.
We have a Paso Fino that we broke in a few years ago. She's a good horse for the kids, really mellow. We only get to see her when we go to my in-laws though...
