Sorry guys. We've been getting ready for this show and haven't been on much. Ansy hasn't been home alot....been dealing with troubles from the state of TN about the Katrina stuff. Everyone in her group that went down is getting the shaft from the state. They had to fill out a bunch of forms before they went down and there was one form that none of them were given. They were supposed to *know* about this form even though none of them had ever done any natural disaster work. Anyway, it's just a mess.
Tomorrow is our first goat show. We are showing Zeus. He has about 16 others in his class to compete with...lol. We don't expect to win, just want to go for the experience.
Mama goat, Lippy, and Sadie are all showing nicely. They are due to kid in about 2 months. We've now got 12 goats - 8 fainters, 3 boers, and a sanaan that was given to us at a day old. We bottle fed him and he's doing great.....about 2 months old now and ugly as all sin....lol
I'll check in tomorrow night and let you all know how the show went!!
Zeus will win, be confident...it makes the judges notice you. If your competition razzes you, so much the better. Positive, negative, it makes no difference, as long as YOU are all they think about. He is gorgeous, and...he has the NAME.
I had a class I didn't get out of till 6 that evening, when I got back and hitched the trailer it was after 7. We had to have Zeus checked in by 9PM that night and it was an hour drive.
We started out and WHAM! The trailer has a flat tire. There was no one who could fix this tire that time of night so we just threw our hands up in the air and gave up.
Needless to say, we did not make the check-in time.....or the show.
Saturday was our 5 year anniversary too.....and thats what Ansy wanted .....to have me dress in cowboy get-up and show Zeus in this show ( I am a city slicker you know ).....so it really was a bummer....lol
There's always next year......and the fairs in between...
That gives you time to work on attitude. Shows are all about acting like you are the winner. People then believe you are the winner, or at least are confused as why there is a contest when it seems you already won...
