I need help

I am having computer problems. To make a long story short, I had to restore my computer back to factory settings. So I am having to reload programs that I had prior to this. However, I now have tons of pop-ups and adware, spyware showing up on my computer. I have ad-aware SE, popsubtract, google pop up blocker, spysubtract (all free programs) and I still have so many pop ups, I can't get rid of them!

do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

you might try going to tools then internet options, click the privacy(sp) tab, the on the bottom half is pop ups, click settings, and change to high.

hope this helps

Carp! You're a Mod over here?  I didn't realize that when I saw you over there.

Do a restone AGAIN and run all adware/spyware programs before you connect to the internet.  I had the same thing happen to me on a brand new computer.  I hooked it up and went straight to the internet and I had like 50 pop ups at once.  It was a mess.  After doing a restore, I ran the ad ware programs and left them running and went on the net with no problems.

Once you get that taken care of, something that will really help you to NOT pick up much spy/adware in the future is to use Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. Most of the crappy adware is made to work with IE.

Yeah, I've been using Mozilla Firefox since one of youse guys told me about it, that and pop-up stopper, and now my Norton is a pack called "Internet Security" [was the only thing on the shelf at Walmart when I went to get this years virus catcher]. Seems real efficient, all kinds of extra features, and firewalls and stuff.
