YAY!

Well, the other day I e-mailed the humane society that I got 2 of my critters from and asked if they had paid employees and that I was interested in working there. I got a reply and they said they were needing a part time kennel person, 5 days a week, 8am-1pm....and I was welcome to send in an application. So, I did and they called me today to let me know they received my application and she said they did need someone 5 days a week, and I could only do Tuesdays-Thursdays since I work at the clinic on Mondays, fridays and saturdays...so they said they will try to hire me on a part time basis in the veterinary technician department, I'm assuming doing the same things I'm doing now. I have had alot of experience working at the clinic so I think that's what gave me a boost past the kennels. I have an interview set for Wednesday at 10am....it's about 30 minutes from here but that's alright :) I've been wanting another part time job for a while now, so wish me luck. There's no way I'm leaving the clinic, though. :)

Congrats and Good Luck!! It has its good days and bad days there. I volunteered for one of our shelters for three years and got to work in the clinic on days when I could not take pictures(bad weather , etc.)

Good Luck!!

Yeah, but every work place has it's good days and bad days. I've had my share at the clinic so I know to expect crappy days. I have a very good digital camera (Well, it's Matt's) and I think if I took some pictures with it, they'd get adopted fast, quality wise and plus, I just don't like random pics, I'd want a good head and body shot of a pet I want to adopt. It really does make a difference. A digital camera is actually on their wish list so, I could also see if I could be the picture taker. =)

Here's the website, the quality of the pics just aren't good.

Hey, Heff, check out this thread from the Labrador forum I am on, everyday.
THIS shelter has a good photographer.
I am on fire from the idea, that these photos will get the inquiry level so high, they can pick and choose the best home, the way that I do with my pups.
Tell me, reading the whole thread, those are not exceptionally endearing photos. Deceptive, perhaps, but a high percentage of buyers [errrr, adopters] results... Gives more to pick and choose the right person for the right dog.

Talented shelter photos:

Those are so good! When they take pics like that, it looks like they truly care about the animals getting adopted out. Just random shots suck. ha...little things like that make a huge difference to alot of people. thankd for sharing, kitty!
