Hello, that is soooo cool you have your son now. Ansy had a compter crash, and going thru family ordeals right now. The group has been very slow lately.
Hi, you! I'm curing a 6 month old Labrador puppy with cataracts with $100. worth of eye drops, developed in Russia. The absolutely most exciting thing is that when I got an extra supply, and upped the dosage, she improved radically, in just 3 days.
Other than that, I ordered an e-collar for issues that I just could not work out with Megan. I have used them before for barking, and refusal to leave the house [it's only to go potty]. I am tired of the yelling[me] and shrieking[her], not to mention other problems. It should arrive w/in the week. This morning she began shrieking at 4:30am, we had gone to bed at midnight. The poor 6 mo. old male that I'm trying to housebreak, woke up, thought it was time to go out, and had wet himself before I could wake up enough to put him out. That's makes several, the times I have been cleaning and bleaching his kennel at 6am. It is not even light outside when she starts, and the old senile cat yowls and paces, rarely sleeping, waking the household, whenever Megan is not doing it. Meg was in there, shreiking every couple minutes while I write this, after repeated threats, I finally went in and switched her. She is quiet now, for the 1st time in 2 hours. I think the e-collar will take care of her behavior w/in a week. I just hope I can survive her presence until it gets here. Btwy, there are 4 more dogs here, they are not shreiking, even though one is a chronic barker. Megan, and the constant chastising she is evoking is making the other dog's uneasy, not to mention confused, they all wonder if they should bark, too. In case you wonder her motives, Meg has been doing this since she had pups 6 mos. ago, and realised I would come to every sound she made. She is spoiled and stubborn, and actually wants for nothing. She is just coming out of heat, which may explain some of it. At any rate nobody is getting a night's sleep here, and it must stop. she just started again. I need to go out to do laundry to give my head a rest
I'm glad to hear things are going well P&D. I'm glad to see you back. We recently had to restore our desktop. The thing had been running so slow that it was time to just clean it all out. Hopefully I got everything backed up that I needed to
Glad to hear everyone is doing well. As for Rambo well he just went nutty one day. Went after my husband with no provocation at all. one minute wagging his tail the next after hubby's jugular! Had it NOT been for my husbands male dobe Rusty I don't know what would have happend. He really saved my husbands life. Rambo was put to sleep after that. I hated to do it but there was no other response to such an unprovoked attack after having raising him from a 5 wk old pup. After the episode within minutes he (rambo) acted like nothing had happend. I cannot and will not support the claims the breed is the problem nor his raising or training as he was well trained and cared for. He was however an inbred dog and had many health problems because of that. His hips were doing well and he was like a young pup again physically.
I have decided that when things are settled and I am done with school I will start rescuing and screaning these pups to train some as service animals. They are a wonderful and special breed with much to offer and they NEED to have an avenue for redemption. I will ofcourse screen them very particularly but I think the breed deserves a fair shake. Even with Rambo's history he was trainable and did well. I have high hopes for this breed and want to do my part to help these dogs get a fair shake.
Dorothy and I even started a service animal registry! I will post the details on it soon as it is still under construction.
So where is our chat room at now a days?

Our chat room was on our main page (that Ansy re did) but it's down, due to Ansy comp being down she can't get online.
I remember the story about Ramdo now that you say it, I just couldn't remember.
They are trying to start BSL here in Florida now. Goes to the whatever in 9 days! Great! But one thing that i've always noticed about where I live here is that the whole place seems to be love APBT's. Of course there are a few that don't. Dog attacks don't get much attention here, when a fighting ring is busted it's all over the news. Fighting is a big problem is cities around us. I'm just hope it doesn't happen here, Storm is on the list as aggressive as she's a American Bulldog, I'd hate to have to put her in a muzzle or worse PTS.
Thats sad, but it was neccesary. I have heard quite a few people as of lately speaking of their pits that were responding aggressivley. One last weekend at our rescue telling us he had to do the same as you did, he had to protect his family, little girls. I'm sorry about Rambo, but it had to be done.
Have ya been around since I became a volenteer for a local rescue in my town.
Theres a pitbull convention of sorts going on next week I hear. Our founder may be going.
P&D, sorry for your dog. It is, however, an instinct with Pits, and I have known that since I was 10 years old [they were fighting dogs with a great reputation]. Part of their Modus Operendi is the throat grab. I have seen a pit in my neighborhood attack, without provocation, other dogs that crossed his yard. The throat was his target area. His victims could not cry, nor struggle, their way free. He killed a few dogs, some larger than he was, before AC took him off to be killed. My favorite breed is the Doberman, specifically the rust colored ones. I am not confident enough with their genetics, to offer them to the public, as a product of my breeding. Labradors are easier, but they have 50 common genetic ailments, and not most people are as careful as I am, so they are just as likely to have a flaw as a Pit. Good luck with your endeavours. I choose to conquer the genetics of a different, but no less imperfect breed.
