My grandmother swore they had worms if they 'scooted' across the floor, but I think that was partly an old wives tale.  I have heard that it happens because they need their anal glands expressed but I'm not familiar with that at all.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

It could be;

  1. Worms, needs to have a fecal test to make sure

  2. Anal gland could need to be cleaned again

  3. Just a itchy butt.

My dog scoots after she gets groomed due to them shaving her butt.  I would not treat for worms, if you don't know for sure.  Some dogs need to have the glands cleaned every couple months. If it continues, have the vet check it out.

I have heard that some small breed dogs have trouble with their anal glands.... I just found this website that gives some good information... http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_anal_sacs.html
