standard poodle

Does anyone know of a good standard poodle breeder in the NY, NJ or PA area?

I can't really help as I'm in Wisconsin...but have you tried doing a google search for the breed and area?  That is how I found a local breeder for my Bichon.

I got Farley from out of state & if I knew then what I now know I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten him.  I was lucky, he is wonderful & except for some allergies is healthy & a wonderful furpal but he was brokered & I got him sight unseen.  The local breeder that I got Chloe from not only lost her husband but literally broke her back so she has gotten out of breeding.  There are a couple of people who I see on Tues. nites who attend a handling class after our obed. classes who have standards and I will check with them to see if they have any recommendations.  I found Chloe's breeder by calling our local kennel club & asking for any recommendations they had.  Perhaps that might help you out.  Another possible lead would be another forum that I recently joined.  If anyone can give you a good lead it would be there.  Here's the link:

Here's another forum that has a great group and I'm sure they'll have some good info for you:

Helllllooooo,  What would you think of a resuce.  I know a poodle resuce in Michigan. Right now they have about 7 spoo rescues. Michigan is not far from you. Just a few states.

I would love to do a rescue but my 8 yr old standard would never accept it.  He is adjusting to the puppy but he's not happy!

If your 8 yo isn't happy with the new pup you have, I'd really reconsider bringing another pup into the mixture. It might be too overwhelming for him to cope with.  Also, having 2 young pups makes training all that more difficult.
