Surgery for female schnauzer

Hey- just wondering what everyone thinks. Jazz is going to be spayed on Tuesday of next week. I am probably going to pay the extra $50.00 for the laser surgery.  However, I think I will decline the blood cell count for $25.20, occult heartworm test $26.00 (since she has been on hw medication), electrocardiogram $69.60 (recommended for dogs over 7 years old or previous heart disease) and finally, the chemistry I (liver & Kidney suffiency tests $57.20...

Any comments negative or positive are welcome! Thanks!

My dogs never had any additional test for a spay....I don't think it is necessary.  The only one I would think about would be, one they would do for drug they use to put them under...some dogs have an allergic reaction to it and I know there is some kind of test for that, but don't know exactly what it is...

I have always had the pre-surgery blood work done because I have been told by my vet & many other people that it can show potential problems and it is a good thing to have done.  Of course, I always try to err on the side of caution more so for my furpals than for myself!

Since laser surgery has become an option I have done that as well.
