Hi! I'm the mom of 4 collies a springer spaniel and a white schnauzer..all rescues. We do collie rescue mostly. Anyone out there have any collies?

Welcome to the furum.  I have a nothing-in-particular mutt and a rott mutt, both rescues.  When I was a kid, my next-door-neighbor had collies, all of whom were named Lassie.  The neighbor wasn't the brightest star in the sky, but the dogs were really nice.

Welcome!  I have never had a collie but the few I have met over the years have been wonderful!  They are truly beautiful!

 I had a min sheltie , he was a wonderful dog, I had to rehome him when I moved from a house to an apartment. Welcome to the furrum, pull up a chair and stay awhile.

Thanks for all the welcomes!!! I found this site through someone on terrificpets.com which is similar to this.


Great Dane person....I used to breed harlequins....Love the breed but hubby thinks that when a dog weighs the same as him it just might be tooo big...

Oh, I don't see how y'all could stop breeding such a great breed. I think Danes are the best dogs ever, but I do have my heart set on a Neo Mastiff. Oscar is what I call my rainbow dane. He is a total mismark with like every color in him. His parents are both Harls. You can see him at http://www.dogster.com/?50558

I stopped breeding because I became aware of how many were needing forever homes that were older or tossed away. It was when someone told me about petfinder.com..I've since adopted 3 from that site and the new one is from there too. Not all danes though...I love them dearly but my hubby thinks that when a dog stands taller than him or eyeball to eyeball he might be a little too big..lol

Most of the people in my family don't like Oscar because of his size. They all think a dog shouldn't be the size of a horse. I have thought about rescueing but its really hard to get one as a pup. And Oscar doesn't really like adult dogs too much but he is fine with puppies. I have to do what is right for him. I used to be on TerrificPets as Paigebeverly and someone else I know is on there too.(FinCat)

At one time I had 6 Harley's and what a house that was!!! You have to know I never ever even bothered to lock a door. If only people knew what babies they are.

Colliemom- do you see how when you mention tps name on this website, that the admin does not jump down your throat and act like you committed a federal offense and then delete your post? Isn't it nice? She understands that people are going to belong to other sites as well. It is SUCH A WELCOME change. I just thought I would point that out. LOL
