msg #1 IP: Logged 7:10:41 PM 2/22/2005 I am looking for a Vizsla pup, and I live in Northern Virginia. I have searched online for breeders within a couple hours driving distance and I haven't really come up with anything.
Anyone know where there are Vizsla breeders in either VA, MD, PA, or near?
Thanks very much for your help.

msg #2 IP: Logged 7:16:48 PM 2/22/2005 there is a poster on here named hoosgow that breeds viszlas ? or was it pointers ? not sure but he advertises on this site. catlover would know. maybe she will see this and can help you out. keep it bumnoped to the top, she is usually on during the daytime.
its the official site for the vizsla club of america, and has a link to local clubs that might be in your area, or you can email and ask for breeder referrels.
Vizsla pups--in Beaver County Pa, Just 30 mins from Pgh. Go to Pittsburgh Post Gazette website, click classifieds. They are taking deposits for the 5 week old puppies. The lady is real nice, emailed pictures and everything.

Hoosgow is in Colorado. He has mostly GSP, but has one vizsla that he plans on breeding either this year or next.
A good vizsla is hard to find, especially if you're looking for one from good hunting stock.
I haven't seen hoosgow on TP for a few weeks. If you want to talk to someone that REALLY knows vizslas (breeding, training, etc) I can email him and let him know.

Oh, and also-I'd be careful of a breeder that places an ad in the newspaper. All of the good breeders that I talked to had a waiting list. Some had all puppies sold from litters that haven't even been concieved yet. Ask lots of questions-do they show their dogs? Do they do field trials, hunt tests? There's lots of things to ask, unless you want one as just a pet and don't intend to hunt or show.

do you have links to their websites ? maybe we could help determine if they are a good breeder or not. in pennsylvania i would be cautious. pennsylvania is a huge puppy mill state, especially amongst the amish people.
I hope you can help me with this I really don't want to go to any puppie mills.I would really like to find a breeder closer to me .If anyone knows of any please let me know. I live in Mass.

msg #4 IP: Logged 5:21:51 PM 1/30/2005 The first one screams puppymill-to me anyway. The second one sounds like a group of breeders that just have their own litle association but all I read about was purebreeds. I didn't see anything about the mixes except that it is an available breed. They dont have a breeder part/info on them.

Sorry....but both reak of puppymill / brokers!! Yorkiepoo is NOT a breed of dog. It is a mix simply between a Yorkie & a Poodle. Your local shelters have them. I just checked for zip 02101. All these so called breeders are doing is supply & demand to pad their wallet. That's what makes me so angry! Right now there seems to be a rise on so called "Designer Breeds". They want you to believe they are a special rare dog. Please be an educated consumer & don't buy through the internet via mills or brokers. As I said, these "Yorkipoos" can be found at your local shelter/ Good luck!

sorry doe.......i didnt check out mixedbreedpuppy.com because just from the sound of the link it sounds like glorified back yard breeders if not definitely puppy mills. i did check out the strubridge link you provided. i was disappointed in what i saw and wouldn't go there for a pup for myself. if you are really serious about getting a yorkiepoo the best breeder you are going to hope for is a back yard breeder. trying to find a good one of those will be very hard indeed. a yorkie poo is one of the new designer mutts and everyone who has a yorkie and a poodle is trying to capitalize on them. if you know someone who has one, and its a relatively healthy dog.....i would just ask them where they got their dog. other than that check out the local rescue groups. i know you could find one thru that route. good luck in your search. i hope you find a good one somewhere.

Not again....
I agree with Rhondakbt, please check out your local shelter, or rescue a mutt, don't buy one, since there are already so many mutt sin this world.
I can check petfinder if you'd like me too... Good luck!

I would really like to thank everyone who gave me a reply.I have been searching for a pup for quite a long time and have not found any.I did find one filled out an application twice for this dog and I was never answered.I check shelters and rescues of certain dogs.I have had dogs in my life forever except for the last 5years when my lab had to be put down.I swore I would never get another dog because it is so hard to loose them.I had my lab since he was 10 weeks old and was put to rest at 15,and it was the hardest thing I ever did.My house feels so empty now I really want a small dog so I can bring him to work with me for one thing and I want a companion also a friend for my daughters bichon poo. I understand about the shelters and everything but I want a yorkie poomy heart is set on it,and I am sure I will find the right one.By the way I have had dogs all my life and they were all from shelters.

Awww....thats sad.
Why not try a pug, chihuahua, or bichon frise? They are all puebreds, so they can be found out breeds, and you don't have to worry about supporting overpopulation. There are many small dogs out there in shelters that are just random mixes...like ym dog Shadow. She's a American Pit Bull Terrier - black Labrador Retriever mix. I was just wlaking around a shelter when I saw her one day and ahd to tka ehe rhome. =D
Does anyone besides me see a double standard here? If ONLY they knew who I really was over there on their board.....lol......what fools they'd look like!
Sorry for those of you who don't like this kind of thing. I post it here because I am so proud of this board for not acting like this, and since I know 'they' still read this, I'm hoping they'll wake up and see just how hypocritic they look. TP, if you want to save your members, you can't play both sides of the fence. Educate yourselves and figure out what is fact and then stick to it. This proves that you are biased. What should it matter what kind of dog a person wants? Either suggest shelters to all of them, or don't suggest them to anyone. In your quest of hatred for people buying mixed breed dogs, you have shown the world just how hateful, spiteful and down right mean the world can still be. And you call yourselves dog lovers? Please. Give it a rest. You are not dog lovers, you are image lovers. You love the image you try and show about yourself. Sorry, but some of us are smart enough to see through it. If you want to lose your members, we've got room for them here.
How long will I keep this up? Until I am banned from here or until they stop with the hyprcritical remarks. I am a member of both forums, and I feel I have the right to discuss this here. Please let me know if I don't.
Well, from reading the rules you can post it here, however I personally don't care what TP does and my feelings about it being discussed here differ from many. I feel that it brings negativity to this board. You mentioned that you are proud that this board don't act like that, well I for one, is not proud of the need of the bashing of there board here.Sorry if this makes some mad, but thats how I feel. I was also banned from there like many , but I choose to give it a rest .
Hey Shadow- I understand and it doesn't cause me any hard feelings toward you at all. But, personally, I don't think the negativity reflects on this board at all. The comments show the negativity coming from over there. If nothing else, it will open their eyes and make their forum even better! I for one have seen the double standard going on forever (not only on the mixed breed issue) but if you say anything about it, they ban you...
You do have the right to post about any topic here, but if I may make a suggestion, just don't go to their board and read anymore. What you haev posted here is what I and alot of others witnessed over and over again while we were members there. It is part of the very reason I created The Furum. TP is not the only forum that has biased members. Most of the larger forums do, and someday, we will too. The difference is that The Furum will never have a moderation panel consisting of people who all believe teh same way. Variety is the key. I no longer visit their board. I don't need to. Even with less than 40 members, I can find the information I am looking for right here. What's happening over there will always happen over there simply because of the size of their forum and the views of the people in charge. Everyday of their lives they will have to deal with posting hateful threads because someone wants a mixed breed dog. The mixed breed pehnomenon (if I may callit that) is huge right now and new members of their board don't know that this has went on for months over there. They sign up to ask a simple question and thats when it all breaks lose. It is a forever standing tradition of TP to speak on circular levels that never get anything accomplished when discussin this topic.
I know that the issues at TP are a focal point at the moment, but don't let them be. We can see what kind of false information is being given there at times. Instead of making it a negative energy and getting angry about it, turn it into a positive energy and make the best of it. Use your positive energy to attract members to our board so that they can feel welcome when asking any question. TP has a lot of great information, but I never want to see The Furum being representative of the harshness bestowed upon new members of that place. We were all 'new members' somewhere at one time.
Since I have quit visiting their site, I have noticed that my day is much more fulfilled with legitimate information, opinions, and views. They have nothing to offer me, so I don't bother. If you could just try that principle, it may just work.
I have edited part of your title simply because it breaks the rule of name calling. other than that, your post breaks no rules.
