Dogs and hormones...

A friend of mine raised this question today and it piqued my interest as to whether there is any validity to it.

Do male dogs react to women's hormones?? For example, has any one ever heard of a male dog becoming aggressive or dominant towards a woman when she is menstruating??

This sparked my interest because awhile back on one of my boards a woman with an intact male Weimaraner posted saying that she had aggression problems with her dog (towards her) every time she was on her period. Has anyone else had or heard of similar experiences??

I would think its possible. He can smell whats going on. LOL Funny that you ask that. You know how when women hang out  together they end up menstruating at about the same time. Well, my pup is getting spayed next week and I was thinking, lord she had better not get on the same track as me, cause there will be no spay now if she does. Stupid huh. But she is just over 6 months old. Thats about when it happens. Her momma went into her first heat at 5 months and Lillys aunt at 7. She will be 6 1/2 months old by thursday. I just want it to hurry along.
