On the plus side.........

One of my old boyfriends from high school (that I've always been friends with, even after we broke up) came over to my house yesterday. Talk about weirded out!! I had spent the morning and early afternoon cleaning the house, getting ready to show it at 5:30 and we had to get our taxes done at 4. So I'm taking my shower at 3:30 (which is the time my hubby gets home) and the dogs are barking and such, but they didn't shut up when he came into the house. He comes into the bathroom and is all like Derrick's here. And i'm like Derrick, like my old boyfriend?? And he's like yeah. So I tell him it'll be like 5 min and I get out and dressed and such and go out to talk to him. He's been in the Marine Corps since we got out of high school and this is the first time I've seen him since June of 2003 so it was really weird. He's all big and buff now but he's still the same immature guy I knew in high school. Still wears chains and black nail polish and weird hair and big black baggy pants. Did I ever go out with him?? that's what I was thinking. We talked for a little bit then we had to go get our taxes done. Then he came over this morning at like 11:30 and I'm all in my pj's and no make-up and hair in a messy pony. Yeah, I'm lookin hot!! So we talked for a bit and he said he wanted to take me out to lunch. So I told him to gimme 1/2 hour to shower and what not. It was just so WEIRD!! But it was fun catching up and such and it wasn't at all awkward like I thought it would be. I just felt like sharing that with everybody. I don't remember how many chocolate chips I had in my chocolate chip cookie so I thought I'd share this with everyone. Good day!!

I saw my "first"  5 years after we broke up on bad terms, just out of the blue.  He worked at Home Depot and i went in there with my hubby a few days later and we saw him and it was very weird seeing my first and my last talking.  Looked like they were sizeing each other up...lol.  I saw him once after that and then we moved 1000 miles away so i have never seen him since.  I didn't regret him at all and i still hope his life is what he wants it to be.

It's just been a month of running into old friends for me. Two weeks ago I ran into a couple of my other old friends at the liquor store. I was listening to them talk (they were talking to my other friend that I was with) and I was just like "whoa. why did I ever associate with you??" one had just gotten out of prison, yikes!! and the other, who was completely psychotic and "sold his soul to Marilyn Manson on the internet" said he was married and has a kid now named Dravyn Malakai Mennssen He's one of those ppl that has all the piercings, and I mean ALL the piercings and he's got tattoos. Not that i'm against piercings and tattoos, my hubby and I have several of both, but he's just the last person I would ever think of getting married and having a kid. Then yesterday another old friend came into the salon to get his hair cut from me. All these ppl I haven't seen in years!! It was actually good talking to him and we exchanged email addys so we can keep in touch better. Then my old ex came to my house yesterday and today. I now fully realize why it never worked out with us. 'Cause he's the same old Derrick and I changed and matured a whole lot since high school. But we will, however, remain good friends and that's how I want it to stay.

Tonight at the restuarant, a guy came in, looked familiar, said hi (I hi'd back, like I do all night to people). He did not ask me to serve him, so I figured it did not matter. Later, I noticed the guy he was sitting with, the guy said hi, looked familiar, and said nothing else. I asked the waiter that got them what about them, and he said they were both Robert. I am 90% sure they were my brother's good friends, and one of them a kid I used to babysit.
Later, a man sitting by himself started muttering to me about karma. I said, you mean the karma that ran over my dogma? Later, I addressed him by name, and told him I must have been one bad girl to be working in this place for 25 yrs. as payment. Maybe karma is a big deal this week? It was off the wall that that guy was talking about it. Truely, I did not go into it, what he really was talking about. Maybe it is something we all noticed tonight...

I couldn't imagine running into some of the guys I used to date. That would be scarey. I had a few gang memebers and a few bikers. I dated the whole mix I think when I was a teen.

WOW - weird!  I just read this thread...and have to share....

Last Saturday I took my son to Chuck E. Cheese's and ran into my best friend from High School whom I hadn't seen in 5 years.  We had a nice lunch.  She had even had a baby and gastric by-pass surgery since I had seen her.

must be something in the water...lol.
