Sydney- I saw your post

on tp and saw that no one answered you, so I thought I would respond here since I can't respond there (without getting banned again, lol).

For everyone else that is reading, here is her post: (I hope you don't mind)

I rent a house, and never had a roomate, its just me and my three dogs. Well I just recently got two roomates, myfriend from work and her boyfriend. They both love the dogs and the dogs love them, its great! The only problem I am having is at night. When i go to bed i take all 3 with me in my room, and they all fall asleep. If my roomates come home, the minute the dogs here them in the front, they start barking. I can get them to stop once they start but my question is, will they ever get use to it and stop barking when they come home?

I like the fact they bark when they hear something, it makes me feel safe, but since this happens everynight, it wakes me up everynight. I'm hoping after a while they will just know its them or get use to it and stop barking?

I don't know how you can make them stop right now, but I think once they get use to your roomates coming in, they might stop.

The next few times they come in like that, can you get up and let the dogs out to sniff them and let them pet them for a few minutes. I know you are tired, but it seems to me once they get use to them coming home late, they will not bark anymore.

However, I have 2 dogs and one of them still barks everytime my husband comes through the back door.

Maybe someone here will have an idea!!

***oops, I just saw that you did post it here. I just missed it. Sorry!***
