LOL I hear you! The only thing I like about hearing my dogs bark is that I know they can't be chewing up something incredibly inappropraite

I am doing my best to see that THIS generation of dogs does not eat the redwood siding on the house. I have replaced it 3 times in 25 years. It is a rental. The landlord does not want to know what they did before I quickly repaired it...

My dad use to have a lab that chewed th posts that held his porch up!! It was pretty bad. I guess I am lucky there... my dogs don't dig or bark a lot...I could come up with other things, though!! lol

Yeah, they are whittling away the support post out there too. Each litter of pups eats another inch off the 4x4. They are like beavers. Wood has pectin in it. The vet told me to give them slices of green apples. It helps quite a bit. I just need to remember to give them occasionally. I don't eat fruit.

Why is the green apples supposed to stop the chewing? My dogs eat apples in five seconds, plenty of time left to chew. Does it do something else?

I boiled up black pepper in water until it was a thick past and spread it on the wood and that stopped my dobe female from chewing in her favorite spot. She hated the taste and sneezed like mad so she never went back to it. I keep a slew of bones around and that helps too. bitter apple spray works for most dogs but I did have a lab who loved the taste. You just have to find out what they hatwe and utalize it.
