Padula's Queen Shebah was born in November of 1976. Her parents were both normal colored dogs but I cannot remember which color they were. I remember her mothers name was Dynamo. I can’t remember the fathers name though. PQS was the first “White” Doberman ever recorded by AKC. I believe the origional application was rejected because the breeders listed her as albino and AKC does not recognize that as a color.  ALL the “white” Dobermans registered by the AKC are direct descendants of PQS. Approximately 11,300 descendants have been registered with the AKC over the last 28 years, and roughly 1830 of these have been albino(WHITE) The other 9470 or so are presumed to be carriers of the albinistic trait. IMO these dogs should NOT be bred because they carry the trait.

 

AKC has what they call the "z list", which records all Dobermans descended from Shebah's parents that is those registered with the AKC. No telling how many have not been registered. Also the Doberman Pinscher Club was never consulted about the registration of this dog. They are classified as white but they are in fact albino.

 

 In 1983, the DPCA did breeding studies using two albino females. Both these females and their offspring were found to have serious faults. Many of the dogs were found to have multiple problems. Not only did they have problems with sunburn as do most albinos but they had very poor temperaments. The majority of them suffered from photosensitivity, missing teeth and some even died of Skin cancer. Most of them had to be PTS because their temperament issues were so severe. Makes you wonder if the DPCA took the time out to do this study and they found that these dogs were not even close to the breed standard why breeders would want to continue breeding these dogs. These dogs do NOT improve or enhance the breed.  

 All descendants of the parents or PQS’s born since 1996 have carried registration numbers starting with "WZ". Every single descendant of this line that has been registered with AKC has been recorded on the “z list” even those that were born before the list was established.  “white” Dobermans as they are calling them are recognized as pure bred Dobermans by AKC but they are NOT a recognized color in regards to breed standard. The only acceptable colors are black, red, blue, and fawn. Even the blues have some serious problems and breeding of this color should be done with particular care.  There are the dark blended Reds like My Rusty and many breeders refer to them as “stag red”. Rusty’s tan markings are a deeper bronze more then tan color and they are so deep that they are not as easily defined as a blk and tan or a red and tan.  For those that claim that these dogs do not exist the DPCA lists the “z list” on their website.
