Gina, i think tht if you do get a confirmation letter from Verizon.MSN you should send it to Ansy. It would help clear things up. I mean why wouldn't you send it to her! I would think that you would want to clear your name if all this is true. I don't know who is lying but i just want this to be over with. If you have confimation PLEASE send it and get this straightened out.

Clear my name of what exactly? Anybody in my shoes who received such a threatening email would have probably have done what I did.

I do plan to post the email at TP NOT here. There have been many member of this forum who have supported me and I very much appreciate it.

Posting that email here will not matter one little bit. Because it will just be picked apart by the people who have blinders on and I will still be the bad guy. I am not wasting my time defending myself anymore.

I'm sorry, GinaH, but why would you feel the need to post all that personal info about P&D, when it has absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH A PET DISCUSSION FORUM?? That was very rude to splash it about TP as if it were funny. Her problems with her family are, in no way, pertinent to the issue here and you just made it sound like they were. So, even if you do have confirmation that it was P&D's email address, you are still not the victim here. You have made yourself into a bad guy as well by posting that crap. It made me sick to my stomach to think that you would do such a thing. I used to have tons of respect for you when I was on TP, but I think that's changed. To do something so cruel. It just sickens me that adults would act like this. That is everything I have to say about this issue.

ok if there are people that have even the slightest doubt about you i would think you want to show them the proof. Sorry if the phrase "clear your name" wasn't worded right. I just know if it were me personally, i would want every one to know about and see the confirmation. I have to be honest by saying, when you withhold something like that it doesn't look good. I do not understand it......

I think yhat you get the impression that i am attcking you in some way...I truly truly TRULY am not. I feel bad that you got a threatening email. I think it is sick. I just want to understand why you woun't get it straightened out. I guess I will just have to read it over at TP.

This is what I think (not that you asked but....seeing as though I am a Leo I am certain you want to read what I have to say:

If you do, squash this on the board and handle it with Ansy privately.

If you don't then move on or backward if you like to Terrible Place.

We cann all assemble peacefully. You and Pits need to swallow your pride, kiss and makeup and move forward.

I dont think it is fair to heave threats about TP. That is one of the problems...when things don't go right people say "Iwill just go back to TP". Is that supposed to hurt? That is your choice and no one is trying to take that choice away from you. If you feel more welcome, included and respected at TP by then all means I think it is a good idea for you to congregate there.

I think this matter needs to blow over and everyone needs to relax and simmer down.

Ok, my 2 cents. What is the big deal about sending a virus threat in an e-mail? I get spam e-mails ALL the time in my spam folder......click.....delete. Antivirus software? Spyware software? Hmm.....these programs protect the computer. If you got an e-mail threatening to send viruses to your computer....which i doubt pits has the time or (sorry pits

) the knowledge to do, then oh well. They can appear on any ones computer anytime. Why was the e-mail such a big threat? I guess i'm just stupid. I totally think it was WAY wrong to post pits personal stuff on here. IF she is a liar....oh well. I don't believe everything i read anyway. I agree with everyone above.

I don't think it has to do with just the threat...I think it is the principal of the thing. Any threat...real or not, would send me into a rage too. How dare anyone threaten someone because of what was said in a forum...I think it is the unstable person that has to make the apologies, not the person receiving the threat. I've had many arguments with people, but so far, nothing has gone overboard...yet. If it does, I too would take it personally and then watch out.

The point is, we will never know for sure who sent the e-mail. If someone sent me a threatening e-mail i would report it as spam, block the sender and move on. Believe me, they will bust people for sending spam. When i got my new computer, i thought the anti virus software was working. I had the computer for 2 weeks when the internet police......yes, internet police....came to my door and said my IP address was under investigation for sending spam e-mails. I freaked out! The internet cop came in my house and looked at my computer. He found a virus and that my anti virus program wasn't running. Thankfully, they dropped the whole thing. The point i am trying to make is this stuff can happen to anyone, anywhere. Without solid proof, there is no case to blame someone. Maybe pits did it, maybe not but i don't feel, in my opinion, that sending an e-mail threatening to send viruses to a computer is a real threat. Threatening to harm somone, yes, and that's only if they figure out exactly where you are. This is JMHO.

What I think some are failing to realize is that another member here had their account hacked into and was used to send PM's to everyone like wildfire (not on this site, but another). They had to have a password. ALL of my other little rant forums were hacked into, which required a password. The Furum was hcaked into, which again required a password.

Even if MSN issued a memo saying that pits account was associated with this, whats to sat that this same person didn't hack into her email account and send it? The hacker has been doing their jobs since long before we met pits. There are alot of people who don't like pits, so what better way to get back at her?

In the end, the email did not threaten physical bodily harm to GinaH or her family. It was threat which most of us are prone to every day of our lives. We just aren't 'warned' in advnce about it.

I think GinaH has a right to be upset, and I am not calling you a liar GinaH.......I think any of us would have come to the same conclusion if we were in your shoes. You based your thoughts on the information you had at the time. NOw, new information has come forth. Thats all.

Not too long ago about two months ago, My whole computer went down, files deleted before my very eyes, I could do nothing. Nothing like this has ever ever happened before. I had started coming here more. First thing I thought was it was some dimented person from the other forum. Honestly though I haven't got the foggiest notion who. I know people can mess with your home computer if they know how. I was a tad bit mean on the other forum, I was basically perturbed. and took it out on just whomever posted. Not majorly bad at all, but she senced that something was not right. I still feel bad about it. I apologized but doubt she saw it. Jessica that was for you. I guess what I'm saying is there is so much baloney going on now, and no one knows whos doing it. I don't usually cause any trouble. ever. Its not how I am in life or online. Had to get that off my chest.

While using this site, in the last couple days, my Norten popped up a note that it had caught and destoyed a virus that it called a trojan horse or a worm, something like that. It probably would have caused trouble, I would have not known about it otherwise. It was just as I was writing post. Possibly even as I was checking the one private message that I had.

I also had an attempted attack last week. It was a trojan horse and my Norton Anti-Virus blocked it. I can't remember what site I was on when it happened though.

I find it ironic that all this trouble starts just as soon as TP started logging everyone's IP. A good hacker could have hacked that site and got tons of information without anyone knowing it. Your IP is logged each time you post. That isn't the case here. It is logged when you register and thats it. Also, none of my moderation team has access to seeing people's IP addresses. Even though I trust all my moderators whole heartedly, I just didn't want them to be posed to the risk of accusations concerning that. Proto has access to IP's once a member is banned, but she has never banned a member from the forum.

Even though TP is a big site, there are alot of security loop holes in it. I remember many posters showing concern before the IP's started getting logged over there. Some said that nothing could happen. Well.......an awful lot has happened since that began. I don't know if its related or not, but its food for thought.

I have Norton anti-virus, firewall and spyware. Still it happened. I always see my system catching virus attempts. Someone is definatley messing with people.

You are correct. Even the most secure computers can get attacked. I think its worth pointing out though (for those who don't know), that viruses, adware and spyware are sent from everywhere. I had a PC completely crash last year from a virus and I wasn't even a member of any forums. When I bought my new pC, before I could even get my Norton registered, I already had over 50 adware/spyware downloads in my PC (in less than an hour of being online with a new PC). The fact is, the more time you spend 'connected' to the internet, the more chance you have at getting attacked.....and most of us spend quite a bit of time online.

Come on now…lets not get paranoid now…we can get spy ware and worms and Trojan horse’s viruses include in many ways. I have my detections going off all the time…it doesn’t mean TP is doing any voodoo…Come on…all the sites you visit attach feelers to you and in turn attack you if your system has a opening…I have had problems…I’m no threat to any one. . I think it is the sites my kids go to frankly…I have 4 pc’s networked together and it is hard to think of just one source of all the mischief…If you pick up PC magazines they have many headlines about the same issues…is TP going after them too…come on…lets state the facts…if you have no facts…don’t state accusations.it just starts crap…

Thats why I posted the the statement above. I'm not sure why I made you feel that I was accusing a TP member. I stated that their security became full of loop holes (IMO) when they began logging IP's. Anyone who is into hacking could get that info, forum member or not - although I do believe it is a member of one of the 2 forums. No one else would get this kind of gratification from it. I didn't want it to seem like I was accusing anyone in particular.

I don't think anyone was attacking TP, just stating that things happen there too. I had an issue with a trojan on my computer a bit ago and when i called HP about it, the tech support guy said i needed a few anti spyware programs because they each detect spyware that the others may miss. I havn't had a problem since.

I have zonealarm and avg anti virus plus window ex security updates daily and I use adaware and spyware tools and I STILL got 5 viruses in the last week!
