A lot of sense in what you say Pits.
The war and the gas thing is part of a win-win sitch for the current administration. We were never to get anything out of any of it. With 9/11, we assumed the bent over posture and will likely not be able to straighten, with Uncle's hand on our back

I do believe they are currently going after the last remaining wilderness up north to break the back of the enviornmentalists...the carte blanc that will give them will eventually destroy all our groundwater, and ultimately us, but we should have oil for...I'm giving it 10 years. I know the fairy tales say otherwise, but I have no intention of argueing the point. In 10 years, we will see who was right. I am ever one to say I told you so.

I did a bunch of research on solar and wind power and one can live by their own means of power relativly easy and actually quite cheep. You would be surprised what an ordinary house fan a power inverter, a few deep cycle batteries and a truck alternator can do for you. So long as the alternator has a built in voltage regulator you will be fine. I powered the computer I am on right now with nothing but a power inverter and a car battery for three days. I had to recharge the battery after, but it can be done. The only way to survive what is coming in the years ahead is to learn how to get back to the basics.

I made it a point to learn all I could about farming and living off the land because not only does this knowlege help when money is tight but it saves on resources and makes you far more independant from the powers that be. I learn a little bit more every day. I am the type of person that is so defyant of the powers that be and oppression I would be just spiteful enough to have a horse and wagon carry me around. Nothing wrong with riding a bike to work or a horse for that matter. Thats why I love to live in the country. You have much more versatility then in the city. Right now I live in a suburban nightmare. I hate population density I love wide open spaces but then again like I said I am not a real people person.

You know what I miss most now that I am living in the suburbs? Getting up in the morning and perking my coffee on the fire and cooking "fresh" eggs right out of the chicken! I need to get out of the city I am way too stressed! lol

A Native American friend of ours lives in a shack with total solar and his own well. The utility company pays him $26.00 a month because they end up using some of his power! I will be converting my next home with solar.

I am not a racist. I have a job to do after being asked by the border patrol to help. Do I carry a gun, yes, do I shoot illegals, no, do I have a vested interest in keeping them out, yes, do I want to discuss the race card, no. For God's sake Johnny Cochran's body isn't even cold yet. I read about that kind of set up but you know what? I have no intentions of hooking up to the utility company. Why? Well even though I could possibly get paid for what I generate I don't want the utility company running their lines on my property. I can generate more then enough power for myself and if I am making enough to actually have an excess that the power company would have to buy it from me then what do I need them for in the first place? Big brother spends too much time up in everyones business anyway. By allowing lines to be run you are in effect giving them easment rights to your property. I'm not to enthused about that concept. I like my space to myself.

Ok, here's my take on the illegals. I have NO problem with mexicans here......if they work like the rest of us and don't treat us like dirt for not speaking spanish in our country. But the illeagles are trashing our desert. You wanna see, just look behind my house! It is terrible! I even have an idea where there is or was a "way station". It is a big issue here and i don't understand why they can't come here the legal way like some others do. I am probebly the least racist person you would ever meet and there are just as many bad white people as there are of any race but i don't like what the illegals are doing. JMO

Well I have to disagree there Tyson.....

let me give an example.....

I worked construction for a local company for months.....the owner was married to a mexican woman....not a problem for me my daughter is part mexican....his employees were primarily mexican.....he hired my husband to cover the disabled and me to cover hiring women along with one black employee....... anyway......when it came time to lay off workers he laid off everyone that was not mexican even though all of us had been with him longer except for one member of the mexican crews and of all the employees ironically enough my husband and I had the most expierenced crew. Of 6 crews only two were not mexican. All the better paying contracted labor went to them. Now granted my husband and I brought home nearly 2,000.00 a week but the mexican crews were clearing over 4 grand a week. That is double what we were being paid. Were they getting paid more for the jobs? Nope but they were getting twice the work and paying no taxes on the income. Plus it cost us upwards of 60.00 to cash a 2000.00 check each week. THEY got cash. Our pay checks were bouncing but they had no worries.

I have seen this happen alot. And for the record when I was a pregnant mom with an irresponsable (now ex) husband and on welfare I would have given anything for that $20.00 a day cleaning hotel rooms to help pay the bills. I pay in taxes on my income, I don't work under the table, Most of them do. Not an assumption but fact. They do this because they have even more money to send home which nearly doubles its amount once it gets there. I see that all too often that yes some work for less then one of us would but that in itself hurts us as well because emlpoyers save a bundle by hiring them to do the work for less then we would. Not to mention the fact that the ones that come here legally end up with awesome first time home loans and small business loans. Loans that you or I would be extreamly lucky to even have a shot at.

I am not racist. But I do feel that they should come here legally and that equal opertunities be given to them not better ones then us. I also feel we should limit the number we allow in each year of any imigrants and the number should vary from year to year. Much of this should weigh on the job market. It is not fair to those of us already here to allow for an open door policy which hurts the aready struggling majority. When unemployment rates are at an all time high it makes no sense to me to add to the population by allowing more imigrents in when there are already not enough jobs to go around.

I followed Dorothy Norwood's advice: I prayed about it.

Truthfully, I just want to be left alone. Live on some acreage with a dozen dogs, an old Ford pick-up and a shot gun. Can't do that these days. The government might do a "public domain" snafu and well...if I don't comply..off to jail I go or the cemetary.

I just want to be left alone.

Here is what I don't care about:

I don't care what any other culture does. I don't care if Mexicans live fifteen deep in a 1/1 bath trailer. I don't care if every culture, white, black, blue, green kill each other in gang violence. I really could care less. I don't care if Asians want to spend $4000 in modifications to their Honda and if the 12% I belong to want to do whatever everyone thinks we do (fight, cuss and rap music, and pop out babies I guess). I don't care if white people want to judge what every one else does and sow seeds of paranoia and worry about I don't know I guess what everyone else may or may not be doing. I don't care if Muslims blow up the dayum world and think Americans stink. I just want to be LEFT ALONE! I don't care if the Irish Catholics hate Protestants and I don't care if the Jews killed Jesus. I dont care if the Jews didn't Jesus. I don't care who killed Jesus to be frank. I don't care about Allah, Muhammad, the Sun God, the rain God, the black God, the white God, the red God, the yellow God. I dont care if the Africans have AIDS and the Costa Ricans need food or vice versa. I don't care if Christians are waiting for Judgement Day and the Hindus pray to trees.

I prayed about it and that is how I feel.

I want to live my life. I want to die. In between life and death I want to be left alone.

LOL sure you can I did it and would still be doing it had Ivan not taken my trailer.

While I care about some things in general all I really want is a place to call home on a farm in the middle of noplace and to be completely left alone.

Someone asked me once (knowing my passion for animals) if there was a dog drowning and a human being drowning who would I save? I said the dog.(unless the human being was my own child of course) The dog will lick your face and be your friend for life the human would find some way to sue you for God only knows what.
