Okay everyone bare with me. Hubby is not home so I have been going through some old pictures. These are from the 80s. Here is Bubba and Gus. I grew up with these dogs from when I was born until I was about 12. They were great. Don't be shocked tonight if I post more pics of the animals I had growing up. My parents used to raise rotties. They were awesome dogs. Don't y'all love the 70s background?
their coats are beautiful...i like the ones in the fence they look happy and have smiling faces...
i have never seen a Rottie with thick coats and look that heavy ..their coats look very very pretty...times have certainly changed. Rotties don't look like that anymore...

The breed has changed a lot over the years. Bubba and Gus were great dogs. Gus used to sleep in bed with me when I was 5 and it had to come to a end when he started eating my stuffed animals. But we had 4 other rotties too. One of these days I would love to have another but I am a little attached to Danes.

I know Rotties have changed. None I have ever seen have coats that luxurious. Your Rotties' coats are thick!
I like Rotties but I became wary about their stableness. Someone once told me the black and tan dogs have rage issues. I don't know. I love bloodhounds and the like though.
Dane are gorgeous too! I love when they sit (like a human). I love that.
They do have poor immune sytems. Bubba the adult male in the first pic had a stroke once and he pulled through it just fine. I remember my dad sleeping on the couch bed with him while he was having to have IVs. It was awful. He recovered but he could never walk in a straight line again. And then I rememebr one Winter somehow he got up on the pool deck and fell in. I have know idea how long he had been hanging on the edge but I had to jump in to get him. And man it was cold.
And Oscar always sits like a person would. I even got him to sit on the toliet once. It was too cute.
