Want to know you

Just curious what does everyone do for work, fun, etc. Answer only if you want.

I use to work in the veterinary field untill I got tired of the greed

Now I spend my time with my daughter she and I are both happier, I still love animals mostly more than people.

Just got tired of being a voyeur(sp)

I do part time seasonal work with a husband wife team that makes renisannce clothing and leather goods. I make my own hours pretty much. LOL Come home just in time to pick up my teenage boys and play with my three pooches. My youngest poodle, my bosses let me bring to work. I have a fold up crate that stays in my car. Hubby is a mechanic.

I am a part-time hairstylist (part time not by choice), and a part time dietary aide in a nursing home.
I am married with 2 dogs: Chopper is a rat terrier and Mollie is a pug/chihuahua mix
My hubby's name is Brad and he works in a factory, making farm equipment, although he went to school for graphic design (he makes more money at the factory)
I have pretty much every day to myself, as hubby works days and I work evenings, so the dogs are never alone.
I get up, let the dogs out, come to the Furum, and talk for about an hour or two, then watch a movie, clean a little, get myself cleaned up, and go to work.
I like to go to movies and rent movies. I am a huge movie fanatic and have hardly seen any movies I really didn't like.
I am a homebody, pretty much, though sometimes I do like to go out and drink at the bars with Brad and some of our friends.
That's pretty much it. BOOOOORRRRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGG!!!!

Wow..what a nice post..I am a 45 year old wife and Mother of 2 daughters..They are 9 and almost 14..I have to say..I have great kids..they dont always clean their rooms like I like..But I never have to worry about a mean spirited thing coming out of their mouths..I have 7 dogs..3 Germans Shepherds, 3 Mini Schnauzers (not counting the litter of pups mind you) and one ancient Brittney. I have 1 cat..soon to add 1 or possably 2 kittens. I just love himmy's and persains. I have worked in many fields in my life but mostly the food service industry..I worked my way up to become a Food Service Director in Institutional settings in the county I was born in. After the loss of my Mother in 85..I developed burnout probably depression also..but I wanted a change...But..to what..I took a bookkeeper job( which is a joke..i am dislexic..and horrable at math...lol) at a Meat Packing Company in the busling Eastern MArket Area of Detroit...AN UGLY PLACE>>lET ME TELL YOUUU!!!But..I was able to use my expertise to help other Food Service workers IE, food preperation, menu planning, food usage, the list went on and on..I loved my job..and my boss was like a brother to me..I worked there for over 8 years but I also had 2 other jobs I worked at the same time..One was a Child guidance clinic I cleaned weekly..and 6 days a week I cooked for a Church Rectory..I had no relationships or home life..so work was ALL i knew..I did this for several years..Until I injured my back..well several back injuries..and one day I was broiken..I was paralised..and in severe pain..I had fallen at my job and landed on my knees and right side..So..to make a really long story a little shorter..I went on Worker comp..sued..and Have been on disability since 1997..I have cronic nerve damage, herniated disks and deteriating disks in my spine...I have exaused all treatments (except one..i am hearding about recently) and I just exist and deal with the pain as best as I can.Im not one for pain killers..and most now even with the spared usage make me itch..i do some house work..it was never a priority...lol..but I do the cooking and tend to the dogs most of the time..I am blessed as I said with wonderful kids and a TERRIFIC Husband..although..I dont let him know I think he's "all that.".Might go to his head..He is retired military..after 20 years and a golf war vet...He has golf war syndrome..and has some difficulties associated with that..But..He is a go get'er type..He is a modivated soul and not lazy one bit..he has not been feeling well these past few days..and has been sleeping several times a day..so unlike him..he is usually PURE adrenaline..But..I would also like to ad that even though i have not been gainfully employed for many years now..I have continued my education to a degree I thought I would never have..and have taken every free class offered in my home town area..They might be parenting, cooking, family tree making, computer classes, you name it..ive taken it, no doubt...lol..I love learning..as I was a nit whit in school..I am more settled down and want to learn. I love learning some thing new each day..That is why I love these discussion boarsd so much..I can pick up a lot just reading..I also am very proud to tell you I founded a nonprofit org in my county to make things for other charities or agencies..I founded and licenced it in 1998  and I have gotten more joy form making things ( sewing, crocheting ect) then most can imagine..I enlisted the help of others in the local paper and have a wonderful network of friend from it. WE made things such as..all items for premature babies..even burial outfits.., laprobes for several places, hats and mittens for foster care and needy children, Toys for children lukemia..Toys for local hospital admissions..I cant even remember all that we have done.and all the start up agencies we have helped..Like a local baby pantry, a womens shelter...ect.. Any way..I have 10 acres and live in the rural area of the thumb area of Michigan..I had a fire in 2002 and rebuilt a New house in 2003. I had a cabin style..now have cape cod style..I love our new house and even though it is probably 3 times the size..I need more room..lol..Thats always the case I find..We are constantly doing yard work and have landscaped the back last year and fenced it..Need to seed it this spring..not much grass yet..thankfully it hasnt been raining to make it all muddy again..Well..I hope that is some insight into what makes me tick...enough about me..what about you...???

Thanks all for replying.   Hope all is well with everyone.

Mollie working in a nursing home is hard work.  I did it in security/recreation and ended up with NBC at my house   How do you like it?  I really enjoyed all the people there they were all nice.

Everytime I answer this question it goes badly so I think I will refrain from participating in this one.

Peekaboosmom, I like working at the nursing home for the most part. My boss is a total b*tch and the administrator is a d*ck with no balls. I really don't like change when I don't think it's going to better anything and they're trying to change everything that we're doing right now in the kitchen, ie:the way we cook and serve supper and all other meals (I only do supper). I just think it's gonna be a big, ol' mess and I'm really p*ssed that it's happening. They're trying to take everything that we know about doing things in the kitchen and completely throw all that out the window. She's had so many hairbrained ideas in the 6 months that she's been there, and the Administrator funds all of them, I think, because he's either afraid of her, or because they've got something going on in their personal lives, if ya know what I mean. I am really starting to HATE it there and plan on quitting sometime before I punch her in the face and get fired for that. I've been there over5 years and had 3 different dietary managers and this one is, by far, the worst.

Yeah Mollie I know.   The people that ran where I work are horrible too.   I did my best to change things, and hopefully one day it will for I may not work anymore but I do visit.

Ltlgto , wow you have a lot of dogs, I see from your pics you show, how do they do in the ring, they are certainly beautiful dogs.  I had a min poodle that I rescued from a hospital I worked at.  Believe it or not the owners kept him outside tied to a tree in penn. during all seasons, and he came to us with a attack by a skunk.
