Oasis...I dont know much about horse equipment either..But that looks like a beautuiful piece of tooled leather..I wonder..will it be uncomfortable until it gets broken in? I sure think it looks pretty thought..Im happy that you have such a great new toy..Enjoy it..
NICE. Looks light and tight. Is that for roping? I used a hunt seat for jumping, come down on that saddle horn of yours after a jump and it would take 6 mos. to wipe the smile off your face.
Lol kitty, horns can be bad I just ride western, no showing, nothing fancy. I am still in the training phase with my mare so we have lots of time....lol
The saddle is an Australian saddle and i have wanted one since i was a kid. They used to be VERY expensive but they are dropping a little now. Yes the saddle will be a little stiff for a bit but it will soften up after a while. Aussie saddles are supposed to be extremely compfortable and light weight. I used to have a Dressage saddle which is just like an english one and it was a lot lighter but not as safe or compfortable. Aussies are lighter then western saddles. I will try it on my mare and post a pic later
I will keep that in mind if I ever get a western saddle. I like lightweight equipment. I also like how tight it will hold you on the horse. Actually, looking at it, it looks like my saddle for jumping, with a higher back[to keep you from sliding right off] and a horn for grip and rope. I would say it looks like the ultimate saddle. Now I know more, thanks...
Very comfy looking saddle. I used to team rope, team pen, and do barrells when I was younger. I think I went through 3 saddles. My roping saddle was so heavy I could barely pick it up to put on my horse. And of course I happened to have a very tall horse at the time 16 1/2 hands. My favorite saddle was my barrell one because it ws light as a feather. One of these days I plan on getting back into the horse thing. They are truely magestic animals.
I don't think I have even rode a horse in 6 years much less looked at saddles. My mom still has one of my old ones and man it looks rough. It is the saddle that I used to use to go round up the bulls. Nothing fancy. When I was like 6 years old I couldn't lift a saddle so I would just ride bare back. I always thought that was more comfortable.
