Blue Pit breeder ...what do you think

I love blue pits. I really love all dogs but I have a couple of favorites...

What do you think?

To all the pit/terrier owners, what do you think of the promotion/adjectives of the pits being born as:

gangsta, awesome, big, grotesque.

In one of the photos, the breeder says the pits head is the size or will be the size of a microwave.  Is this a good idea?

I love their size and I love this guys pits. They are so beautiful/pretty. But they do look rather huge! Lobo is gorgeous.

Honestly just by the words you used from that site i didn't even look at it. APBT's are typically small males being around 50-60 LBS. The larger ones you are talking about usually have Mastif mixed in for that sixe. A true APBT does not get that big. People that breed just for blues are USUALLY byb's. Any 2 APBT's can throw a blue if the carry the correct gene's. The larger APBT's usually have more health problems especially with hips. If you want a true blue find a good breeder and when they have a litter they may throw a blue. I know 1 person right now that bred a all white and a seal, they threw I think it was 4 blues. They right now I think 2 weeks olds and OMG are they adorable!

I got a little concerned when I looked at the pics - the one pic of the basketball player holding 2 pups - if you click on it, it looks to me as tho simple a-frames & barrels laying on their sides are the only form of protection out there for the dogs.  Doesn't look too nice to me.

Goliath one of the males is 5 years old and is 132 lbs??? definatly mastiff Stormy that is what I was thinking. The whoe "size does matter" thing really bugged me. I believe size and weight matters for breed standard but no way are these some of dogs pure pits. I was particularly turned off my the picture of the pup on the "produced" page that showed this pup in what looked to me to be a very nasty display of agression. Terrible way to present your pups and their parents if you are a good breeder. Some of these dogs looked mutated in a way. Or like they were on steroids.

However Stormy I disagree with the comment about breeders who breed for blues. I see nothing wrong with breeding for color if it is an acceptable color. JMO

BTW Tyson I love the blues too. Beautiful dogs IMO!

I didn't say that breeding for color was bad, just that alot of the breeders breeding for Blues are byb's, I come to that judgment but looking at alot of Blue Pits breeders and seeing a few first hand.  Blue Pits are becomming more and more popular, so the demand is going up. Many Blue Pits breeders classify them as "rare" when in deed they are not. They put a outragous price on a Blue when they are no different then a Red.

I love the Blue's and if I was ever to get a APBT my first choice would be a Blue, but I would also be VERY picky on where I was to get one.

Head size matters for breeding mostly.  Pups with big heads have to be born thru C section.  That's way almost all english bull dogs have to be born by C section, therefor expensive to buy.  I agree the site looks kinda bad and I agree they are beautiful.  Oh......i just agree.........lol

I just looked at the site more and it's not too bad but i don't like big breeding kennels and the barrels do look bad.

OK So I looked at the site! Gotty's! Alot of people do beleive that there is Mastif in the Gotty line. Look at Zeus for example....

Look at his neck and facial structure. Look at his "lips" def Mastif. There is a girl on another web site that has a Gotty that she rescued, says he's the biggest APBT she has ever seen and he's not even full grown. She posted taht site cause the dogs sire is from that kennal she wanted opinions from the other members. Alot of us came to the conclusion that they are in fact a BYB.
