P&D, are you on high-speed? Once you do, you won't want to go back to dial-up. We had high-speed at work and dial-up at home, and I hated to get on our computer at home. I finally switched from Dish Network, got rid of my 2nd phone line and switched to our local cable with high-speed.
Anybody here use the VOIP system for their phones? You can actually do away with any phone lines in your house and use you broadband or high-speed computer connection instead. Much cheaper and no long distance in the US. I'm interested in trying it.

I have knology and for some reason my bundle bill for net pohone and cable should be 135 but it is going up every month and I am sick to death of it. So I am not sure if I will stay with them of go to someone else. I love high speed but it is not worth the hassel. I need cable for the high speed and it is outragious. I would love highspeed and phone withpout the cable! I never watch these chanels I am paying for.

I know what you mean. The prices seem to keep climbing. I want to get away from our phone company "QWEST". They really s*#k. Our cable and highspeed are through Adelphia, but I hear they are bankrupt and were just bought by Time-Warner/Cablevision. Do you have providers just for highspeed in your area?

I wish I could get the high speed here for a cheap price. But the only one I can go with here will cost an arm and a leg justto get it set up. So as for now I am stuck with dial-up. But my computer is pretty fast so I won't complain much.

You have been reading my mind. I would LOVE to find a way to have highspeed without the phone. I use my cellphone and I hate having DSL as a phone provider. IT IS SO EXPENSIVE.
I dont watch television a lot. Very little to be exact and roomie has a dish or direct tv or something.
yes knology and comcast that I know of. I am looking for different providers. Knology is outragious and makes you bundle your services. And Comcast is nothing but problems! Internet never works but they charge you anyway. I would rather use dial up then have outragious bills for services I never use and bills that go higher and higher.

We had Comcast Cable, but never had high speed internet. I just get my internet through bellsouth and pay it with my phone bill. I eventually cancelled the cable because we never watched it. Between the PS2 and the reality shows on regular TV, the cable was useless.
I am still on dial up, and it works for me. I just can't see paying the outrageous prices for high speed at the moment. Eventually, prices will come down. With bellsouth, I get my internet for $4.95 a month by adding it to my phone service.
I have Quest for my phone with unlimited long distance. High speed cable internet for $25.00 a month and have free AOL and MSN (family loves me...lol). I have a wireless router so my brother can have high speed on his too (he lives with us) and my laptop is wireless so the only wires i have to deal with is the charger cord sometimes No complaints here....lol
I wish I had access to high speed either dsl or cable..in the sticks we dont have either of them..I have been asking the phone company for 5 years now..no word of when or if it will happen. I bought the satalite system and it is as good as i can get..it is costly but i dont have the luxury of options. My hubby and I take online classes and the pages dont open fast enough on dial up. The satalite is 49 bucks and I have to have a phone line.. I think i scaled that down to 20 something..but i use cell phones any way..But..thats still expensive..but like lilgto said..if you go high speed..you wont go back..Good luck finding options..all bills go up...NEVER down.
