Survived Disney...

Just got back from Orlando....9 days in all, 7 of them spent at one theme park or another...UGH!!  I have NEVER been so happy to see a "vacation" end!!  At least my kiddos and hubby had fun.

I missed my dog and hanging out with you guys.  Hope it's been relatively drama free the last few weeks!

Cathy

I go for the day to one of those, I think 7 days may be a bit of overkill. I love water rides, was it at least warm enough to enjoy being wet?

Isn't it amazing that with some vacations you need to come home to rest!

Y'all are lucky to get to take vacations!! I'm using my week's vacation time to move!! We've never even been on out honeymoon yet and it'll be 2 years in June!! Haven't been on a vacation since I got Mollie, Nov. 1, 2001.

Believe me...7 days is TOTAL overkill!!  I can be into it all and happy for a day, MAYBE two, but after that it's all just annoying.  The weather was great, so we were able to enjoy the water rides and went to Typhoon Lagoon one day.  Great family time, but next trip will be quiet, relaxed beach time in Hawaii!

I live for my vacations, so there's a lot we go without in order to afford them.  I'm a big proponent of the theory that when Mommy is happy, the whole family is happy, and THIS Mommy needs to travel!

I never had a honeymoon either, Mollie, and it's been 14 years!!  We did have one planned, but my inlawspulled some crap and made sure that didn't happen....better save those Jerry Springer stories for chat one night though!!

Ah, Moen, when I go on vacation, I GO ON VACATION!! LOL My mom used to be a nurse and my dad made good money too, so I was used to taking vacations every year when I was growing up. I miss that a LOT!! I love to travel and I love to be gone for long periods of time, like 7-10 days. That's my idea of vacation!! I've lived in this crummy lil town my whole life and have never been homesick for it while on vacation. Even the time I spent a summer down in GA. That was good times!! But then again, I didn't do any sight-seeing or anything like that-well, not much anyway. I think that's what wears a person out. Have no idea where I wanna go on our honeymoon. Been saving all my tips from the year so far in a piggy bank at the salon. That's my honeymoon money. I'm gonna crack that piggy open sometime next year, either Jan or Feb. Then we prolly won't go anywhere till that spring or fall......................................................

My last vacation was awful. It was in 2000 and we went to Schlitterbahn in New Braunsfel for one week. And for those who have never heard of it, it is one of the biggest water parks around. But they have little townhomes and apartments you can rent out and thats what we did for 5 nights. Let me just say that a water park gets old after a while. I had the worst sun burn ever and I think I was water logged for months afterward. But it was nice having our little townhome in the park because when we got tired we would go take a nap and get out of the 120 degree weather. It is also a very expensive place. I think we spent 5000 in the week we were gone.

Jawlaw, have you ever been there?

Paige, where is that exactly?? I have no idea where New Braunsfel is. LOL. I have heard of that place. I like to watch those things on the travel channel about where the best waterparks in the world are. I know that was one of them. It may have even been their #1 on the top ten waterparks list. Sounds like it would be a blast though. Although I can totally understand where you are coming from about a waterpark getting old after 5 days, lol.

It north of San Antonio. You do know where that is, right? LOL!!! It is huge. There are two parts to the park too. The old original one and the newer one. I think I rode every ride at least twice while I was there. But the best thing about staying in the park was that when it closed for the day the regular pools and hot tubs were still available for us. It was nice to just go and relax in the hot tub at midnight with a bottle of Vodca and your boyfriend. LOL!!

LOL, yes I know where San Antonio is. It's in Spain right?? LOL, JK. No, the whole name of it kind of threw me off a bit. Schlitterbahn sounds like something you'd find in Germany or some Scandinavian country. Meh, sounds like it was a blast though!! I hope we will get to go someplace neat like that for our honeymoon. I really want to go to Ireland, but I don't think that's ever gonna happen, on my money anyhow. I don't make that good of tips, so it won't happen, at least not in the near future.

Paige- I went about 20 years ago. It was fun then, but a week would be too long! lol... All that area is pretty fun if you like the water... You can go tubing in that area. We have done that a few times.

I had a friend that wen to Schlitterbaun a couple of years ago and she said it was so dirty that she would never go back...so I don't know what has happened to it.

Wow Jawlaw, I didn't know it was that old. LOL!!!! Just joking. I probably won't go back there again. A week was enough to last a life time. I will probably just stick to 6 flags and Hurricane Harbor. They built a water perk here and it cost almost 30 bucks to get in. And its small. I think I would just rather drive to Arlington/Irving.
