A polite thread for Roxygirl...please read

Believe it or not, I get your humor. You and my 13 yr old son have a whole bunch in common. He is the best kid ever but his sense of humor gets him in trouble every day.  He tries to be funny like the adults but he doesn't know when it is appropriate or he goes too far sometimes.

He just had 3 days of In-School Suspension because he made a joke and his teacher told him he wasn't allowed to talk for the rest of the year!  He laughed and that got him 3 days.  I know he was just being silly, but see sometimes adults don't want negative humor or they don't always think you are funny.

Many times his comments come off as rude and he gets a little smack in the mouth from me!!  Then he whines that he was just playing around.

So, here's the deal. I will from now on take everything you say as being silly...fair enough?  I just want you to know that when you are typing these things we aren't hearing your tone of voice or seeing facial expressions so your comments often seem VERY rude.

You don't need to tell us we are mean, hateful, or rude....because we aren't. And we don't need a chill pill...we just try to avoid the fights. I know I am not the only one who feels this way, by some of the other responses you got.

Just re-read what you write and see if you think maybe it will be taken the wrong way! OK?   Otherwise, have fun posting...

By the way, we often post off topic here...it is allowed....that is the main reason I joined here. We all talk about our pets and show them off...but we are internet friends and share all kinds of thoughts, funnies, and stories.

Let me just add...you should apologize to Mollie and Puttin...I don't think either one of them feel you were joking or sorry. It would be the polite thing to do.

Just pout of curiousity...how do you post during school hours?  Do they let you have that kind of freedom on a computer at school?

I no, but I love to make people laugh, And I saw how some of u guys do it here.  THey need to learn that I say that I am kidding and I mean it...I would never tell anyone that they aren't nessesary for a forum about anything.  I think that they owe me an apology amd I'll give them one back.  Thank you for telling me that my humor was taken the wrong way.  But, I really don't think that MollieMae should've cursed at me.  (no offense to anyone)

Well, I think you can see she wasn't the only one who took offense to it. I have talked to her and it really upset her. She feels if you can talk to adults like that then you can hear how it made her feel.  I think you can understand that.  I doubt she will apologize...but thank you for reading this and responding.

I get what u mean, but I really don't understand how that could have hurt her?  On tp I almost cried everyday b/c of some of the things people said to me and nobody stood up for me and helped me.

how about you stick to just talking and telling us things about your pets and not "spice" things up.  That might help you.

Maybe 'cuz everyone thought you were a troll, cuz you acted like one?? And maybe 'cuz I'm not the only person who saw what you said as a hurtful thing?? Just a guess though. And 'cuz I never came on here trying to start fights with ppl. I've always been respectful of others, as long as they're respectful of me. You, were not. So I gave you what I thought you deserved. Just because ppl on tp made you feel like sh*t, doesn't mean you need to come here to make others feel the same way. I did absolutely nothing to you to deserve what you said to me. NOTHING!!

Roxy-  I agree that you shouldn't stir things up......that hurts people.  If you are tempted to, just don't respond.  Mollie is one of the nicest people on here and so are the rest.  We don't tease to be mean.  Please think about what you type before you do.

Are you kidding me Rox?!!!! Molli is NOT mean in any way you are the one who isn't nice. You were mean to her. I am not going to talk to you like a baby and make up excuses for you acting that way. I have said it in my other post and i will say it again, my daughter ....who i 6.... is more mature. You have no reason to hold a grudge.

I'm not sure what happened here, because I wasn't on to see it.  However, I can cleaerly see that this is not a he said/she said issue.  Too many forum members seen this and all seem to be in agreement about what ever it was that happened.  That is enough to make the take a second look.

Whatever it was that was said towards Mollie (and anyone else) I do not want repeated here.  if it upset this many people it must have been bad.  I don't need to 'see' things for myself all the time.  This forum is full of great people and our forum and chat mods are always on top of things.  If the members here tell me there is a problem - I take their word for it.  Not one or two members.....but I see that several of you took offense to this.

Roxy, perhaps you meant no harm......but let this be a warning.  This is a 3 strikes and you're out forum.  Three complaints of behavior like this and you will be banned.  You now have one under your belt.

Unfortunately Roxy, the newest members always have to prove themselves.  Thats just how it is.  Many of us knew each other on another forum and we learned way back when that each other was not a troll or troublemaker.  You do not have that luxury, because you were new to both forums.  The Watcher, TnT and many others really and truly had to 'prove' themselves before they were totally accepted here.  Once you get past that.....well.....you can just kick back with one of us how ever you want.  When I say 'prove' yourself I mean this:

Prove that you are not a one post troll

Prove that you are a regular forum member

Prove that you are here for the right reasons

Prove that you are not just here wasting out time

You also have to give us the chance to learn you, your humor, your likes and dis-likes, your age, the things that upset you and the things you like most.

As we learn about each other we will come to know what will and will upset another forum member.  Please allow yourself the time needed to learn us and give us the same opportunity to learn you.  This can be done without crass remarks, sarcasm, and dis-respect.

There is not a single member on this forum that I do not like.  I could sit here and say something positive about every one of them....and I don't even know some of them that well....but the fact remains......I know not to cross the line until I get to know them.

Roxy, we are all human and make mistakes.  Please learn from yours.  I have seen a few of your comments myself and do not feel that they are contributing positively to this board.

I encourage you to re-read the rules of this forum and become familiar with them.  I'd hate for that 3rd strike to sneak up on you.

Do you realize that you dis-respected a moderator?  Someone who freely gives their time to help make this place run smoothly?  Without them, this place would have gone to h*ll by now.  I am not here as much as I use to be and I'm thankful when they are here and I'm thankful when I see PM's sent to me alerting me of problems.  We welcomed you here with open arms....even after being 'warned' about you.  You should show the members here the same respect they showed you when you first arrived.

We are finally one big (ok...we;re still little) happy forum.  Things are going good here.  I'd like for you to help keep it that way.  You can post about nearly anything you want.........but be nice about it.  It's ok to dis-agree, but be respectful with it.

Name calling and dis-respecting others here is not something I take very lightly.

I'm not trying to bash you, but I am trying to make it clear that your current behavior will soon find you a one way ticket.  Take a deep breath and start over.  We've been in someof the most hostile arguments here that anyone could imagine......but now we are getting along.  It can happen - if you want it to.

I think she perhaps does not have a grip on what is exceptable joking with forum members. You don't say the things she said to people you are just getting to know.  I on the other hand did not get too offended by what was address to me. I thought perhaps she was a bit mixed up on what exactly she was kidding about and not kidding about. I don't understand how she can say, she does not understand how Mollie could be offended by telling her basically she was not needed here.  That was simply mean. Any parent teaches their children to not purposely hurt people. My boys know that.  Only people that would understand something said like that are their long time buddys.

I think Roxie, just needs to learn the ropes on internet ettiquette. I don't have anything against Roxie. Let try to teach this gal to be an upstanding internet forum user.

For some reason this reminds me of a couple that used to live above me.  The wife was from China and did not know always how to use proper english phrase, and the appropriote times.  Her husband was joking around with his buddy as he was leaving and told him to get his a$$ home, and a few other things, well his wife said yeah you Fu**ing a$$**** you go home.  I was down stairs and I could not help but start busting up, it was soooo funny.  All I heard after that was Shhhhhh don't say that.  You don't say that sort of thing.  LOL

But basically she just did not know the appropriote time for certain things.  Maybe its the same thing here.

I'm sorry, but i didn't understand how I was hurting Molliemae when I said I was kidding about that, right the second i posted it.  I do understand that I am not well known here and some people don't understand how I said I WAS KIDDING.  They just took my post the wrong way.(no offense to anyone)  If anyone was offended by anything I said, I am completly sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you.  I always joke around, but now I am aware that this is not the place for my humor.  Maybe when I get well-known, things will work out better.  Sorry to anyone who was hurt by anything I said.  I truely didn't mean to and I never will.

P.S I was also hurt by the bad things people said to me.

Thank you Roxie, That is all that needed to be done, a heartfelt apology. Now we can move on hopefully Mollie will forgive and forget.  You have to remember, that after we all get to know you and how you are then we will understand you better.  Talking with adult usually means acting more adult like in your speech. I hope we can all just mooooooooovvveeee on. Just try to remember to re-read your posts, if you think it may hurt someone, then it probaly will. so reword it, whatever needs to be done. I delete my posts, if I think someone might not get what i was saying, add smilie faces frowns whatever will help to get the mood of the message across. Ok,

If you don't mind me asking, you said you are 13? is that correct? Just wondering what are your interests? Hobbies?

Frenchies are definate cuties. I wish my boys would have gotten into sports, the most sporty thing they like is skateboarding.  They are very into punkrock and into playing guitar, drums. Tried to get them into soccer, but that was a no go. Soccer is a big thing in this town as is football. I can hear the highschool football games and the cheering going on from 12 blocks away.

I think you are very capable of having a good conversation. I think with some threads online, you have to figure heck, Ifi can't add anything to it then pass on it.

Hey happy belated Birthday!!!!! My husbands birthday was yesterday. Oh man, that explains it my hubby is a joker too. LOL
