Copper made it to Seattle with no more problems last nite. His mommy called me at about 11:30 (I must admit I had nodded off watching Everybody Loves Raymond). Copper was picked up by our Crest-Care rep in Seattle and stayed with her last nite. I had an email from Copper this morning too. He was absolutely exhausted when he got to Susan's, took a nice long pee & pretty much settled in for the nite with her crew. He's such a good boy and loved everyone…of course.
Marci called me this afternoon after they'd picked up Copper & had him home for awhile. Marci shared some chicken fingers with Copper on the drive home so she's got a friend for life now. Copper & Daisy are already pals, he didn't give the cats a second glance, and more importantly, he wasn't phased by the bird at all. I asked Marci if he'd done his wave for her yet which he hadn't, but while we were on the phone Copper & Daisy got to chasing each other around the house & when Copper heard Marci's s voice & ran back to where she was, he stood up & waved at her. I could have peed my pants I was so tickled. I just couldn't be happier for everyone, but especially Copper. I knew he was gonna love it there but it's so great when it's confirmed that "I did good". Copper also did a little marking of his new territory while I was on the phone with Marci, so the bellyband I sent along with him was a good thing.
These kids are just so damn amazing how quickly they adjust….and here I am still missing him & thinking my house is just too quiet without him. He's gonna have such a fabulous life, and I have to give another big THANK YOU to Susan in Seattle for making it all happen for Copper.
