We have told all the kids in our neighborhood that if they see a snake, they are supposed to yell snake so an adult can help them. Well, yesterday, a kid on our street did just that. He started yelling snake really loud so my hubby and i went running to make sure the kids were safe. He pointed to a bush in our neighbors yard and said that was where the snake went, so i slowly got closer to see. Turns out it was only a racer snake and not a rattle snake....whew! My hubby and i caught it in a box and took it out to the desert and let it go. For all who don't mind sankes, here is what he looked like:
snakes don't bother me if they are tamed and won't kill me. I don't even mind 20 footers but if they are wild, I will scream like a little girl. I hate spiders more than anything. They're evil I tell you.
I would hate to find that biggun in my yard!! I'm like you, Heff, I'd scream like a lil girl!! But I don't really mind tame ones. I favor large ones over small ones, since they're less easily lost, lol.
I wouldn't have been a happy camper coming across that "guest"! That was one thing I hated when I lived in NC - everyone told me there was quite a variety of poisonous snakes in the area and I was always nervous about running into one. Happily in the 1 1/2 yrs I lived there I never did.
I wouldn't have been as quick to catch this one if it had been a poisenous snake.........lol It's time for those to come out now and the scorpions....yuck! The kids are banned from the desert now......lol They are doing construction down the street where it was just desert so we will be getting more "guests" i'm sure.
YUCKY!!! I don't think I want to live in AZ now, O!! LOL I do just fine here with the garter snakes and the bull snakes. I know they aren't poisonous. I don't think we have any poisonous snakes at all around here. WHEW!! LOL
lol........we have lots of poisenous snakes here because we live right by the desert. If we were in town, there arn't any. I guess it's the price to pay since we are living in their home.
That's true. I think it's too cold here for poisonous snakes. They usually live in warmer areas, I've never heard of a rattler in NW Iowa before, but I do know they have them in southern Iowa. ICKY!!! Wonder who would win a fight between a 20' constrictor and a rattler?? hmmmm....................................................
I love snakes. My mother and her boyfriend have two pythons. One is only about 6 foot and the baby is only 2 foot. Their names are Pebbles and BamBam. Kaitlyn loves them.
