I had been drinking last night. I was on the computer till 1AM and I knew my husband was going to want me to get up and go buy cigs first thing in the morning. (He has epilepsy, doesn't drive) So I decided to take Bosco with me and walk up to the convenience store, as I have never and will never drive drunk.
This would normally be a 15 minute trip, walking, maybe 30. Well, of course, the store was closed so I decided to go to another in the opposite direction. I swear it is a quick car ride. So we walked up there and it took forever! I had Bosco on the flexi-grip leash, and that boy was so good . Only once did he reach the end of the leash, at which point he turned around and walked back to me. At any time that a sidewalk ended and I wanted him directly beside me, all it took was a quiet, conversational tone "With Me" and he was right there.
When we got home it was 4 AM! I didn't think I was way out of shape, but let me tell you I am feeling it today! If I want to sit indian-style in a chair I have to lift my legs up there with my hands, they refuse to do that action on their own!
OMG......you were destined for some cigs girl!...lol I know the feeling.....I'm a smoker too and there is nothing worse than going to bed knowing you'll wake up to an empty pack....lol
i was gonna go get cigs last night too ,but didnt feel like getting dressed again so i made sure i left one for in the morning. well when i got up and went to get the cig it was gone ! quinn woke up in the night and smoked it. needless to say after a 10 minute tirade about how its not right to smoke someones last cigarette, he went and got a couple cartons. lol
A]Thank-god I don't smoke. B] I bet it was a nice walk. I hope you did not have much to do in the morning. I love the night. I got off early tonight and it was 11pm, when I got home. I am writing you guys 1st because I know that it's much later where you are. I have all the doors and windows open and will be enjoying the night, and some drinks-then BBQ steak and chef salad w/Rogfort dressing. I will be up late. I have been walking all night with heavy weights, so no dog walks for me. They are out playing with each other. I alternate the 4 dogs in shifts with 2 dogs per shift, several times a day. They play till they are ready to drop, then come back in with their tongues down to their knees, and flop.
I hear you Kitty. I work straight night shift, about 10pm to 7am or so. But, on my nights off, I of course am wide awake, as I've been working this shift a few years. But, I feel like I'm the only soul alive at such a time. Windows open and bbq'ing sounds AWESOME, especially since I'm in GA, and middle of the night is the only time it's cool enough. BUT I'm too afraid, being alone in this big ol' house to not have it secured and locked up tight. The thought of a mere screen standing between me and those big bad people who want to get in is disturbing. And none of it is even valid, as I live in a crime free neighborhood at the end of a cul de sac. So, it's silly really, but one of my little quirks. I think it's really the monsters and bogeymen and I'm afraid of more, but it's deep seeded and I try to cover it up with the logical fears. Ok, I'm rambling. But that's because I'm yet again home on a night off. All alone and bored outta my mind! The dogs won't wake up, either, they're worn out from swimming today!
Hello Dook..I wanted to say a couple things..I didnt know there was a"crime safe neighborhood" I live in a very rural area..and not much happens here..but we have had our garage broken in to and in the out skirts of town they have had break ins and even had a few drug busts..They a re few and far between mind you...but still exist in the boonies..lol..And as for walking in flip flops...oh hy feet hurt with the mear mention of it Shiny...all for a ciggerette...I am so so so glad that I quite that horrable habbit over 13 years ago...I was a mega smoker 3 to 4 packs a day..in no way would i get to the last cig..i have to have thigs more stocked up then that or im a nervious wreck...My husband now smokes and we get all his cigs for the month at one time...I would freak out if I was down to one cig and some one smoked that one Dusty...Quin sounds like a great guy...he will probably never grab your last again...lol...Dook..I had no Idea your in GA...I think 2 other members are too..Arent you in GA too shiny? My hubby was stationed probably half his 20 year career in GA...He is Desert Storm Vet and retired now. Well...thats all from me for a while..Shiny...make sure you dont get so low on smokes..lol..Take care
Yah, Dook, I know what you mean about boogymen. I closed up the front windows and door, and left the 2 back doors open, after the meat was cooked. I get a couple drinks in me and I am about as mean and crazy as any boogie man alive and would not hesitate to whack someone in the head w/ that BBQ basket weighted with steak. Plus the house and yard are full of large dogs[boogyman touches my dogs, he better wish it had been me instead, because then mama gets out the shotgun]. All in all, I am real careful, and large, armed and aggressive, so they would have easier meat down the street.
Yep, I live in GA too. Mybe 15 minutes outside Atlanta. I actually only smoke at night and specifically, when I am drinking at night. But when I left for the store I was thinking that I would avoid having my husband wake me up very early nagging for me to go to the store. I thought about boogeymen eventually, when I was maybe halfway to the store. Being a suburban area, there weren't many people out at that time though. We passed 2 groups of 2 men, each walking in the other direction and on the other side of the road, and we just exchanged a quick "hi" and kept walking.
LMAO!! I think at one I am already passed out. I'm not sure if I would walk that late at night in my neighborhood. But then again if I had Oscar with me I don't think anyone would bug me. But it sounds like you had quite the trip.
That must have been pretty interesting. What in the world did you do that took so long. Did you actually just walk, or did you end up talking to the night people. LOL
Puttin, we didn't stop talk to anybody. Very little night life in our area anyhow, and I would be afraid that anybody wanting to stop and talk to me at that hour might be a boogeyman! The store I originally was going to walk to was not far at all, but when it was closed, we decided to go to another one that is much further. I doesn't feel so far in the car, so I guess I kind of misjudged exactly what a long walk I was getting into!

Oh and huron..hi first of all :)..and also, not so much 'crime safe' as it is 'crime free' thus far. This little area (about twenty/thirty southern looking brick homes) was built in 1997 and there have been no breakins, thefts, or crimes of any nature commited here. Not that it's safe from EVER happening, it just hasn't yet, in eight years. That's what I meant hehe.
