wish me luck

Well some of you know about my roomate situation and it has gotten totally out of control. My bestfriend has been living here for two months after getting kicked out of her parents house, she doesnt pay rent here, or bills, etc. My bestfriend wrote me a letter about my boyfriend moving in and it totally bashed him, she doesnt even know him, so we have issues now. My paying roomate got involved, it was none of her businesse and had nothing to do with her, but she and my bestfriend talk and hangout all the time now, and my paying roomate is causing problems now. Anyway they both were talking about moving in with eachother which actually works out better for me, so I dont have to look like a "you know what" asking my bestfriend to leave. So my rent paying roomate told me she is moving out on the first! Yay!!! So I wrote my best friend an email since I dont know if she is going too. But its been two months and she needs to start paying something if she isnt leaving. She paid her parents 200 or 300 a month so i know I can at least get something. So heres the email...

Hey Lily sent me a text message the other day, telling me she is moving out on the 1st. Are you moving out with her? I'm only asking since you two were talking about moving out together. If you stay thats fine but do you think you can at least give me the same amount of money you gave your parents as rent?  I was talking to my mom and she says I need to get some kind of rent, doesnt have to be the amount Lily is paying, so i said I'd ask for what your parents got. Of course this doesnt matter if your moving out with Lily on the first but I dont know whats going on with that. Please let me know, hope you  have a good day at work!

I read it to my mom, so she could tell me if it sounded ok without being " ". So hopefully she will read this today at work. What do you guys think,  does it sound ok? I just really need her to start contributing if she is gonna be staying. She doesnt contribute anything, not bills, and not even little things like buying water and TP, and paper towels etc...I'm not going to spend all my money on all these things, especially after her going off on my BF and getting my other roomate involoved. I'm not going to let her take advantage of me anymore. I'm so sick of it!Thanks agian for listening to me vent, I cant talk to my boytfriend about this since I dont want him to know about the email she sent about him, and i obviously cant talk to my bestfriend or my other roomate! You guys are all I got...lol!!!

I hate these kind of situations.Im never good at knowing what to say,and usually don't say anything until its to late. You wrote: If you stay thats fine but do you think you can at least give me the same amount of money you gave your parents as rent?  I was talking to my mom and she says I need to get some kind of rent, doesnt have to be the amount Lily is paying, so i said I'd ask for what your parents got.If it isn't too late, thing about rephrasing this part.(can at least give me)Maybe tell her that if she is staying that she will have to start paying and contributing to the household, ie,water, food,tp and all that stuff. It isn't fair to you or your paying roomate. With that said, I wish you luck in getting what you deserve plus salvaging your friendships.

Sounds good to me if that is how you feel sidney...My first choice would be face to face but if it isnt possable or you think the sittuation might get harry...by all means use what ever mmeans you can to communicate. I think no one should think they are intitled to a free ride..We all have to pay in this life..and she should be no different. She should contribute to your household and if she went else where she would have to..so that should not be an issue. Sorry they all had issues with the BF...it really isnt any one business other then yours and his...So..if they go fine if not fine..your dogs want their room back reguardless..so they will be happier if they go. I dont miss those roomemate days..never worked out for me..even my best friend..makes them turn into something other then friends...and at this stage i know better then to mix the two...I wish you all the luck and strenght to handle this sittuation...Take care...

I am so glad I was never put in this situation with my best friend. I have a way of being blunt when it comes to some things. But I would just tell her that whenever the paying roommate moves out that she needs to start paying. Don't ask her if she thinks she cans. Just tell her to. Its not fair for you to pay it all when she is free loading off of you.

Sounds good to me Syd.  Definately push it because you deserve to have rent from her or for her to leave.  More private time with your B/F too........hehehe
