Well, I went down to the little organic dog food shop this evening (I guess thats what you call it) and was going to ask them the 20 question drill, but blanked upon entering and seeing their new Strawberry Blend dog food.....lol. The name was SO non-dog related that I had to buy some just to see if they would eat it.....it was gone in seconds....lol
I did chat with the lady for a bit and casually plugged the forum.....and how I am about to be placing some advertising on it in the near future. Her eyes lit up. She said they had only been online about 3 months and could use some extra advertising.
Aside from suggesting that she purchase a domain for her business name so that people can find them easier, I offered an under-the table-deal to her. We fought and cursed, tore up the inside of the store, pulled each others hair and cursed some more....lol.....but at the end, she agreed to give The Furum members a FREE 3 lb bag of their food in exchange for me placing advertising on my site. I couldn't resist!
It should be in place within the next week or so, but I though it would be a great idea for anyone who just wanted to try it, or for people who like freebies. She was glad to get the advertising - so it worked out well for both of us.
I'll keep you updated and post the info when it becomes available. Maybe next time I can remember my questions for her....lol
BTW, I was joking about the fighting part......but it was an exciting way to liven up a rather boring story......lol
Good Job Ansy!!! I think everyone would love to try a sample, then buy if the sample is good for our furkids! But>>>> I thought that strawberries are bad for dogs??
I dunno. Never heard that, but then again, I don't know that much about foods. As of this morning, my dogs are fine.
Maybe it's just used in trace amounts? I do know that they blend the veggie/fruit ingredients to resemble foods already in the broken down pre-digested stage like a dog would get if he got into the stomach of an animal. They are trying to replicate a dogs diet as close as they can like if he had killed the animal in the wild.....maybe by breaking the strawberries down it changes something? I dunno, but it gives me a question to ask her......lol
They also have meat based products for anyone who isn't into the strawberry thing. I wouldn't normally buy the strawberry blend, but just had to try it because it was such an odd name for a dog food.....lol. BTW, I fed the raw version, not the cooked. I have used the cooked products, but I feed raw whenever I can from them. I use it as snacks for the dogs, in between their kibble.
