Well, first of all, you're a very bad girl, taking money away from your poor stylist!! LOL, JK. Amber brown would be a warm brown, which means it would have some red tones to it. Your hair may have just picked up more on the red tones in the color than you would have liked. If you've been highlighting your hair, the brown will wear off the parts that are blonde. You can't lighten it with another color, color will not lighten color. Like if the box says it's a level 6 amber brown and you want to be a level 8, don't try to do that with color, go straight to your stylist. If you just want to tone down on the red tones, maybe try something with an ash base. Ash brown should do the trick. Something with more of a green base will counteract the red. Green is opposite red on the color wheel. Just remember that. If you have more of an orange tone, go with something that has a blue base. If you have more of a yellow tone, go with something that has a violet base. Hope that helps!!

Anytime, the red should wear out in a couple of weeks, if you can stand it that long, LOL. Reds usually tend to fade fast, so you should be fine if you can wait that long. Glad to help!!

Ok...I have a question. What is the differance between a weave and extensions? Is it hard to take care of? Are they obvious?  Can you comb or brush your hair as you normally do?  lol

I know, I am a dork, but I keep hearing about them and know nothing about them...I would kill for hair extensions!!  But I don't know what the maintenance is on them.....

I think what Shadow means by a weave is highlights with the foils. Am I right, Shadow?? But a weave can also be hair extensions. No difference, really, just there are different ways of doing hair extensions. Weaving hair extensions is when they get just a bunch of hair in a package and take part of it and kind of sew it in with the person's own hair in sections. There are also glue-in types of extensions, that don't last quite as long as the weave ones, but they are reusable. There's a special kind of glue that you apply to the top of the hair extensions and section off your hair and just lay it on there for a minute, until it's set. Kind of messy, IMO. I've never done hair extensions myself, but did get to watch one of our instructors at the cosmo school do it on one of the students. We don't get any requests to do extensions here in my town, too expensive. I think you'd have to live in some sort of metro area to be able to get them.
To answer your question, if you get hair extensions that are made from real human hair, then yes, you can still brush it like normal and can even color them once if they don't quite match your hair color. You can use a curling iron or flat iron or anything on them.

lol...had quite a few of those too!!  lol

I have always had a perm in my hair until the last 5 years. It really makes a differance in how my hair styles. But now everyone has 'natural' hair....I don't think this is the look for me. Hence, the reason I used rollers! lol  Haven't done that in forever. (which I have laughed evertime I passed a mirror today!)

Mollie suggested darkening my hair color....I don't know.  I look younger with lighter hair and a tan...god knows I need to look younger!! lol   (and thinner)  I am awaiting good weather for the tan part....and for Russ to finish the pool!!

Shadow...did you post a pic of yourself? You have me curious as to what you look like! lol

No, I haven't posted one,and sure not with this red hair.I feel that I looker younger with blonde hair too.I think you hair looks great.I had my hair long most of my adult life, until about 5 years ago I cut it short and love it.It looks much more stylish to me.When my hair was long,I had to perm it too.It has natural curl which can work for or agaisnt you.But ,I think your hair is pretty. What im refering to in a weave is ,foil.. highlight thing.
