This was addressed to me earlier, in a not-so-nice way, but I'll still address it here, in public, to clear anything up that someone may have noticed.
I edited a few of Shadow's posts today (mind you, it's my first day as a mod), one with the word "cr*p" and one or two with the word "h*ll". I edited out the middle letters, then it was brought to my attention that I had missed the "c" word in another thread I even posted to. So, I gladly went back and edited it.
Just because I edit some and not others doesnt' mean I'm picking on anyone. I AM HUMAN and I DO MAKE MISTAKES. It's my first day on the job, same for Jawlaw and Sydney, so please, if we make a mistake like that, tell us NICELY. No one is picking on anyone and it shouldn't hurt anyone's feelings when they get edited. I know not all of us think the "c" word is a swear, but Proto always edited it out, so I'm going to do the same. Even if I hadn't, maybe Jawlaw or Syd would have.
I just thought I'd clear up any misunderstandings. It may have looked to some like I was "picking" on Shadow, since we had our little "disagreement" yesterday, but I truly was not. I intend on being a fair moderator for this forum, as I'm sure I speak for all the mods when I say WE ALL INTEND TO BE AS FAIR AS POSSIBLE. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, and I'm sorry to you, Shadow, if you thought I was picking on you. I fully take this job SERIOUSLY and intend to for the rest of the time I'm here.
Mollie, I think you did the right thing by posting this thread. It is always good to discuss things in the open in case someone else has the same questions/concerns.
Even though we have less than a hundred members, this is still a fast moving board and it is hard to catch everything. Some of these posts are long and having to read through every one of them takes time. Sometimes we miss things.
If anyone notices something we missed, don't hesitate to PM us and let us know. Even with 5 people moderating, I don't know which threads jawlaw has read, Mollie doesn't know what threads I have read and Sydney has no idea what Mollie has read. None of us have any way of knowing what the other does so we just have to 'get' them when we see them.
Also, I just wanted to clarify (because I can get duncy with my words sometimes) that the moderators do make their own decisions here. There is no 'set' list of words that are deemed offensive. Sometimes, it can come down to how they are used which makes one be edited out and another not be. One mod may see a certain word as being offensive and another may not. It's just hard to set a list of words (other than the obvious) which cannot be used here because of that.
With that in mind, please understand that the moderators here come from different backgrounds just like anyone else. Variety is nice and we have that here. I whole-heartedly trust their judgement when it comes to running this board. However, if anyone has any questions you can always PM me or ask on the board if you feel soemthing isn't right.
Let's give them time to absorb into their new roles here. Even though you may not always agree with what they do, they make this forum a better place for all of us.
There are always going to be incidents.......whether from a member or a moderator. The key is communicating with the person involved before assuming they are being unfair. Talking works wonders (really, it does) and if it still can't be resolved......then you always have me....lol
No, ShadowDog, I wasn't talking about you at all. I've never had reason to get into a spat with you. You're an awesome kid, and you are mature beyond your years. I was referring to the other person here, named Shadow. She and I had a spat the other day, and now it appears as though I'm "picking" on her. Which is totally not my intention. I have better things to do than to "pick on people", even though we had a disagreement, I don't want to lose my job the very first day. LOL, I would never do that to ANYONE, regardless of whether we've had words or not.
Mollie..I think it is good to clear the air..and say things out in the open before they excalate..I for one think that is the best way...I know the editing and the job is not goint to be easy on you or the ones who all of a sudden get edited..But eventually we will all know what seeminly innocent words will upset a mod..like cr**..or even saying the f word only using *** can still mean the same thing and will cause a person to edit according to what they persoanlly feel. I say the first few weeks will be the hardest..but we are all friends here and have had words of some nature with others and when it is done and gone..it should be done and gone..and no residual effects should come from it..I persoanlly think what is left in a thread should be left there..just like in vegas...lol...so..I say dont get too concerned Mollie..and shadow..please give things time to blow over and we can all get back to navagating all the posts that we so choose..I would hope that no mod or member would hold agains any one a post from the past..I know I try to start new every day...So...with that said..Have a great day...

I dont participate in other forums because they simply spend to much time policing and tapping members on the knuckles for silly infractions. Forum posting is like television if you dont like it turn it off or don't read.
Truth be known, I dont particularly care for the personalities I have seen or what I perceive are their personalities: Huron or Shadow. In person away from the computer screen they may be quite nice but from what I have read I don't like them. The feeling is mutual. Oh well.
Sometimes I read if they have something to say about pets but when they are *itching about this forum-I say what I have to say about the constant *itching and move on.

Thank you, Huron. I know it's going to suck for the next couple of weeks, but I'm prepared for it. I personally am not offended by the "c"word, but I know others may be, and I remember Proto always editing it out, so I want to do just as good a job as she did. I cuss like a sailor in real life, so it takes a lot to offend me. Sniifffffffffffffffffffffff, yep I like the air to be nice and clear... I have no problem at all being edited. I edit myself most of the time. LOL I see no problem.
Good golly Miss Molly, I've seen unfair moderators and I can be 99.9% sure you will be a fair and impartial moderator, even though you can't sprout eyes in the back of your head and you happen to miss the "F" bomb or something comparable hidden in a post somewhere. Being modereator also means mediator, too sometimes, when an argument is at a stale-mate and it comes down to who has the last word. I feel it's better to concede for argument sake.
I, too, am sorry for the riff with Shadow. It was my pet peeve that inadvertently turned into her pet peeve. Maybe I should have taken my own advise and conceded sooner. I read that she was crying and I normally don't make people cry. Anyway, sorry you got caught in the mix.

dont worry mollie.you will make a good moderater. i have been edited myself .so what? i dont always know what slides and what doesnt. some people are just more emotional than others. No problem Jaw..I have to train my self to say Junk instead..I saw it after the fact and Mollie didnt hit on it since she says she swears like a sailor..lol...That is why I posed that it will take a peroid to get used to the ways that are acceptable..even if they were ok last week....they are not now..and I like the fact that what one might miss another might catch...The board was only manned by pronto before or mostly her and she was not always on..so..I dont have a problem Jaw...if i say a bad word...cut it out...but i dont do it on purpose..so keep that in mind..i have to retrain my fingers to type junk...and my fingers dont alwasy do as i would wish them to. And yes..what is past is past..unless it keeps getting brought up each new day...

In know the feeling Jaw..I have not personally had much problems with tp except Allie and Chili pepper used to get under my skin...and a few more but i dont remember their names any more.and i made comments to them but i was not going to be in there circle so i didnt actually care..but when i found out Allie was real young i left her alone..i just didnt respond any more..no use..I didnt find out Chili was young till not too long ago and she doesnt come there any more any way...so..it doesnt matter to me. I generally dont let things said to me bother me too much...i have had far to much real life pain to get concerned at typed digs...so...no problem...but i do see the illistration that your trying to show..I look at everyone with a new slate each day...or i give it the best try i personally can... and MPP ..I do agree...i can not say I hate a person it just isnt in me to do or say...I dont have to like everyone or what everyone says or does..i dont like my own family at times and dont certainly like what they say at all ties so That is a great point..all i can be accountable for is whwt i say or do...and i follow my christain beliefs that forgivness is crutial and love is the answer...But...thats me...not everyone follows that . So be it..But thanks Jaw..i apprecaite it greatly...
LOL Jaw, We sure did have it out that night. It was actually kinda fun! LOL Anyways. Not everyone is going to like eachother that is part of life. But, certain times things can be looked passed. Everday we grow more and more no matter what your age is. Live, learn and have fun, don't let the little things bring you down.
